Why not final blow?

Much harder to achieve than being top damage.

I went over this with another ganker and the conclusion was that most of the ganks are single players with multiple alts. If there were fleets where multiple real people it would lessen the temptation to try and time a final shot or something which could cause a fail gank. It could also reward a player who spends more ISK like using a battlecruiser, implants, boosters in gank fleets.
