Normally I try to avoid the forums like the plague. Here is my story Mike. As you know BRUCE is still trying very hard to assist new miners with ships. Most of the people I know in game, has been gifted a PvP ship by you. You are passing out some nice vessels. My group is starting small and we have gifted several ships but it is difficult to give away your stuff in this game. I never ran into a harder brick wall in any other game. I just returned from 2 week vacation to no game mail requests for BRUCE newcomer ships. Upon my return, I called one of the members and they told me the issue is scammers giving us a black-eye before we can benefit those in need. Trust is the issue, it appears this new Freelance mission system proves what we are saying. Contracts are full of cons and scams, Hypernet again a system without merit, and now this Freelance missions that has no checks or balance. I was thinking about offering the ships through the Freelance program, but I see only micro-transactions of ISK are allowed. For the readers who are not corporate CEO’s, here is the system outline. **Contribution** - Destroy NPCs - Damage Other Players - Mine Materials - Capture FW Complexes - Defend FW Complexes - Ship Insurance - Lose ships All of these reflect nothing new and don’t allow thinking outside the box. At first glance it looks exactly like the same choice list from dailies. Here in this manner, there is no Exploration, I can’t say, visit my station in the Tsuguwa system and pick up a free ship. I can’t even ask you to mine 1,000 of a particular ore and gift you a free ship. This drop down list is far too restrictive to the person paying the Freelancer. **Visibility and Access** Another obstacle my office is in the Tsuguwa system, so this means the only people seeing this are already here? Weird. Unlike the market, I don’t see a broadcast range. Capsuleer age and limit is fine. I can set it to 30 days or less on age and 1 time only. **Description** Title and 1000 characters or less info box. Followed by a classification, yet look at the list above, not one of those says explore system. **Payment** Units of ISK ( given to the Freelancer ) I get charged a broadcast fee. duration fee, and the rewards ( payments to the freelancers ). This apparently rewards the content creator nothing in return. As Mike says, “Go make me some cookies and we will pay you ISK.” But in return, we don’t get cookies, you get nada, zilch, zero. So is it really any wonder this system is being used and abused as a lure for naive players? I try very hard to avoid saying bad things about games I enjoy playing. This is one on those moments. Hello Mike, thanks for posting another edition of Eve News… Usually I like and agree with most of your viewpoints, however I think you totally misrepresented the context of the Forum thread - ‘Why there is no story in this game?’ The topic of that thread gave me the impression it was directed towards PvE due to what the OP posted: > Where are campaigns? I like the concept of a sprinkling of random cutscene. Somewhere I made a post about completing a mission and getting a 'You saved the world" cutscene. I have always wanted since day one… agents that talk to you. Rude little pr\*#ks that they are. 😀 ---

From what I am being told, this Freelancer system was suppose to be a user mission engine? If so, from the looks of it, they failed. All you really need is something akin to contracts with a mission dialog box.
