This club have badges or secret codes/handshake?
May I join the Science Club if I tell how it is that the sky is blue?
The sky is blue because Earth’s atmosphere scatters sunlight. Sunlight looks white, but it’s actually made of many colors, and when it enters the atmosphere it collides with tiny gas molecules. These collisions scatter the shorter wavelengths of light—blue and violet—much more than the longer ones like red. Violet light scatters even more than blue, but our eyes are more sensitive to blue, and some violet light is absorbed higher up in the atmosphere. The result is that, from almost every direction we look during the day, scattered blue light reaches our eyes, making the sky appear blue.

Now, as promised, the science of digestion for softer stools.

Drink plenty of water throughout the day, as dehydration is one of the most common causes of hard stools
Increase fiber intake gradually with fruits, vegetables, whole grains, oats, or psyllium to add bulk and softness
Include healthy fats such as olive oil, avocado, or nuts to help stool move more smoothly
Stay physically active, even light daily walking helps stimulate bowel movement
Go to the toilet as soon as you feel the urge and avoid straining
If needed, use a stool softener like docusate for short-term relief, not regularly
If constipation is persistent, painful, or new, consider seeing a doctor.

Very interesting video here which adds to the double slit experiment with surprsing results. time in the quantum realm is very odd. The split electron seems to know if it has been observed or not even if the observation took place in the past. very odd indeed. Enjoy. I got goose pimples watching this.

[![](https://global.discourse-cdn.com/eveonline/original/4X/8/1/a/81a2d7c523f8c4d18b392e6eac6f6156b3a5926b.jpeg "Simple Explanation of the Most Notorious Experiment | Double Slit and Delayed Choice Quantum Eraser") ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7iKebDDs2Pg)

So the question now, what “medium” are two entangled electrons using to communicate?

Can we detect or use this “medium” ?

And this medium seems to demonstrate faster than light communication, once the observation identifier from the split electron is erased…that split electron has an effect on the result of it’s “twin” even though it’s “twins” result was recorded in what we percieve as the past.

Sorry if I’m not making any sense here, I am finding this very odd.

Short answer: light isn’t either a particle or a wave; it’s something more fundamental that can behave like both depending on how we observe it. 😉

Electrons do not they are being watched. That is utter nonsense.

Did you know that while traveling in space that you occupy the future, the moment and the past all at the same time but are actually occupying the past.

A ship leaving the Earth will occupy the moment, a Planck second of time. When the ship reaches light speed though and is traveling at the same speed as the light photon, the ship will occupy the moment, which is already the past. Even at the moment a light photon is created in a star, it is always the past.

Well argue with the those that study this and quantum physics says, it happens.. So if you can show otherwise. Please do publish your peer reviewed paper that shows it is nonsense. Aside from your pseudoscience nonsense. The speed of light is something that is both the speed limit and an impossibility to attain. The best we can hope for is getting near the speed of light and that at the moment is still far into the future.

I think you missed the word know in your statement.

But is is very odd though, there are other experiments involving firing electrons into very very cold gas. What the observers noticed is that the electrons were seen leaving the gas before they had been fired into the gas.

This is a factual description of what was recorded, I’m happy to be corrected if wrong but as for as I know this is actually what happened when the experiment was conducted.

now i understand light doesn’t “experience” time so I think this has something to do with the odd results recorded when observing. There are clear examples of time becomming confusing in the factual experiments being conducted.

I’m still shocked that the “twin” of a split electron can still affect it’s other twin even though the result of the first twin was recorded before the other twin.

Re-watch the video I posted, something odd and mystical is definitely going on, based on fact it is believed light does behave differently when it’s being recorded or observed.

So light is classed as a variable?

</div>

Long answer:

Light behaves as both a wave and particle because it is best described by quantum mechanics, where physical things don’t have a single fixed nature but show different properties depending on how they are observed. In some experiments (like interference and diffraction), light spreads out and overlaps with itself, behaving exactly like a wave. In others (such as the photoelectric effect), light arrives in discrete packets of energy called **photons** , behaving like particles.

What makes light feel like a variable is that its behavior isn’t changing arbitrarily—it depends on the measurement setup: the same light can reveal wave-like or particle-like properties depending on how you observe it. In quantum terms, light is neither purely a wave nor purely a particle; it is a quantum object whose measurable properties are **context-dependent** , meaning its observed nature varies with the way it interacts with matter.

What creature was discovered between life and not life?

Experts Discovered a Creature That Exists at the Fringes of Life

Currently named ‘Sukunaarchaeum mirabile’ (after a deity in Japanese mythology known for its small stature), this entity—which the research team has concluded is a form of life—contains the necessary genes to create its own ribosomes and messenger RNA, something your typical virus lacks.

Ribosomes are essential cellular machines, found in all living cells, that synthesize proteins by translating messenger RNA (mRNA) into chains of amino acids, following the genetic code. Composed of ribosomal RNA (rRNA) and proteins, they have a large and a small subunit, are not membrane-bound, and are crucial for building enzymes, structures, and antibodies, essentially powering life’s processes.

An evolved virus that wants to live isn’t a good thing at all.

SM could be the developing precursor of the zombie apocalypse virus.

Messenger RNA (mRNA) is a single-stranded molecule that carries genetic instructions from DNA in the cell’s nucleus to the cytoplasm, where ribosomes use it as a blueprint to synthesize specific proteins. It’s created during transcription, acts as a temporary messenger, and is quickly broken down after its protein-building job is done, forming a vital link in the flow of genetic information. mRNA’s ability to direct cells to make proteins is the basis for modern mRNA vaccines and potential future therapies.

The “zombie” label is largely a **social media exaggeration** or a metaphor used by science communicators to describe its “half-alive” status. Because it lacks most metabolic pathways and focuses almost entirely on replication, some commenters have jokingly called it a “zombie virus,” but it does not infect humans or cause zombie-like behavior.

People thought the same thing about Covid-19.

"Sukunaarchaeum was found by chance. Researchers at the University of Tsukuba were trying to sequence all the DNA inside of _C. regius_ cells because the dinoflagellate was already known to harbor [symbiotic cyanobacteria](https://www.nature.com/articles/s41598-024-63502-0). Yet alongside the expected dinoflagellate and cyanobacteria DNA, and [genomes of what may be bacterial parasites](https://www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/2025.01.03.631278v1?ijkey=3acbe9b4e7ca19b14b2f23f2966ddaa1edbe7a90&keytype2=tf_ipsecsha), they spotted a strange circle of DNA only 238,000 base pairs long, just 5% the length of the genome of _E. coli_. “Initially, we suspected this tiny circular genome might be some kind of artifact,” says Takuro Nakayama, an evolutionary microbiologist at Tsukuba.

But when Nakayama and his colleagues used several methods for sequencing and assembling the genome, they kept coming across this DNA loop. The team was forced to conclude that some other entity, seemingly an archaeon, was living inside _C. regius_.

With an apparent inability to live outside its host\*,\* and with a genome less than half the size of the previously smallest archaeon genome, Sukunaarchaeum—an as-yet-unofficial name inspired by Sukuna-biko-na, a small-statured deity in Japanese mythology—is unlike any other archaeon known. It doesn’t lay claim to the smallest microbial genome, an honor that goes to a [bacterium that lives in sap-feeding insects whose genome is just 160,000 base pairs long](https://www.science.org/doi/10.1126/science.1134196). However, that record holder bacterium contains genes that code for making molecules that are useful to its insect hosts.

By contrast, Nakayama says Sukunaarchaeum lacks “virtually all recognizable metabolic pathways.” That means it likely can’t make essential molecules—such as amino acids that make up proteins, or the nucleotides that make up DNA—on its own, suggesting the microbe has a “parasitic or unilaterally exploitative relationship” with its dinoflagellate host. He adds that like viruses, Sukunaarchaeum has a “near-total reliance” on _C. regius_’s cellular machinery.

However, Sukunaarchaeum stands apart from viruses in one notable way: It can replicate its own genetic material. Typically, viruses must hijack their hosts to make more of themselves. But almost all of Sukunaarchaeum’s identified genes are involved in DNA replication, transcription, and translation. Still, Nakayama says the microbe’s “intense focus on self-propagation, even at the expense of nearly all metabolic capabilities, resembles viral strategies.”

San Diego State University biologist Elizabeth Waters, who was part of the team that in 2003 published the genome of [the first archaeal parasite](https://www.pnas.org/doi/abs/10.1073/pnas.1735403100), which steals from another archaea it grows alongside, isn’t entirely convinced that Sukunaarchaeum is a virus in the making. “That’s a bit of a jump,” she says, though “if true—amazing.” Regardless, she says the microbe is “fascinating” and she believes Sukunaarchaeum will allow for exciting, fundamental tests of how genomes evolve.

Adamala adds that if Sukunaarchaeum really does represent a microbe on its way to becoming a virus, it could teach scientists about how viruses evolved in the first place. “Most of the greatest transitions in evolution didn’t leave a fossil record, making it very difficult to figure out what were the exact steps,” she says. “We can poke at existing biochemistry to try to reconstitute the ancestral forms—or sometimes we get a gift from nature, in the form of a surviving evolutionary intermediate.”"

Which again proves that biology is a shitshow. That just when someone thinks they have a good grasp on what something that has been described time and again. There is almost invariably something new under the hood. That no knew about till that moment.

Biology is not a sh\*t show. The sciences do not know everything, that’s why it’s called a science.

Nobody said anything The Walking Dead or a conspiracy. There are numerous ‘zombie viruses’ that are actually bacteria that make animals less averse to being consumed by prey.

[Ophiocordyceps unilateralis - Wikipedia](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ophiocordyceps_unilateralis)

**Adamala adds that if Sukunaarchaeum really does represent a microbe on its way to becoming a virus, it could teach scientists about how viruses evolved in the first place.**

Yes, a microbe “on its way to a virus” (meaning a bacteria interacting with viruses or its environment) can be very bad, often making viral infections worse by helping viruses survive, infect cells better, or evade our immune system, though some interactions can be protective; it’s a complex relationship where bacteria can either promote or hinder viral success.
