So I had a shower thought and here it is: when Im auto piloting I’m always annoyed by the pop up that stops me when I get to a gate. And I get you can click the don’t show again, but that’s just irresponsible. So here’s my thought, what if we could get a way to select the ship class that we wanted to never see that pop up again. Like for instance im always shuttling everywhere to install jump clones etc. And I never run expense implants etc when shuttling, so what if I could have that pop up only turn off when I’m in a shuttle class ship? And for haulers or any other ship it would stay on. I think this would best help solve this quality of life issue. ---

I think you’re missing the underlying point of the idea, it’s not about toughing it out etc. It’s just about a quality of life improvement that would quite literally have no bearing on people who don’t wish for it to and would help potentially thousands, and considering all the other changes FC made recently it wouldn’t be much effort to implement this. Cause the same argument could be made about autopilot. “Just tough it out and manually do your jumps” yet FC felt the need to add it. ---

and yet there are drawbacks to autopiloting compared to manual flying. ---

I wish we could just turn all gate popups … It’s too much bs to click through now… Edencom, some other dude, lowsec, do you want to pay 10k isk gate fee for zarzakh … Like cmon, jump the gate XD ---

so you want them turned off, then jump and get blapped and turn around and cry to FC, “why wasn’t I warned” ---

True but my point would be that it would be quite useful for people who DO autopilot. If we were to go off of your basis of logic and the truth of autopiloting then effectively it is quite haphazard. But for me as someone who does autopilot and accept the risk of it, I (acknowledging my zero experience in coding etc) don’t think it would be very hard for FC to implement a small qol upgrade ---

how many people realize that autopilot and warping to zero, or warping to a certain point, do not offer the same distance each time? new players won’t know that, and half of the “returning vets” who have been gone years don’t remember or forgot that autopilot does not put you within the limits to dock or warp. ---

I feel you about the annoying popups and I wish you the very best in your QoL suggestion. Unless you can grab a developer by the ears and shake their brain into position… you might not get much mileage on it. Apart from making the trek to Iceland, you might want to cast your vote for a CSM willing to make that kind of change. Then it is up to the CSM to make the trek to Iceland and shake the baby. All that is really needed is a simple tick box to opt out of certain new player alerts. Fly safe o7 ---

Autopilot is a feature. Just not a very intuitive feature… If it were we’d be able to set it to 1km from 10km. ---
