the problem aint having your members pre locked but having 3 RR equiped with 5-6 mandatory highslots not beeing RR´s while having a total of 6 highs. not to mention the lack of fitting room.

Diabolical!! I admit, I didn’t see that one coming. 🙂

O dear. Mining is relatively safe, aldarrin. I’ve never claimed it was more than that.

You don’t know anything about my broader EVE experience, so you are not qualified to speculate.

Your courage, good fortune, and determination are of course not in question here; though I do wonder why you found it necessary to share these not entirely uncommon experiences.

Ah, there’s the attempted guilt-shaming! Whatever I have done or suffered, it remains with me. My arguments can be freely challenged, for I make them public here without adopting a position designed to demean, or to discourage dissent by trumpeting my own worthiness.

Here’s to the next fifteen!

Have you ever thought, maybe mining is low effort because it’s bad isk/hr? At the beginning of my Eve Career it wasn’t profitable without 10 accounts. After this patch it will be again.

Willful ignorance of how production and markets work will definitely work out over time. I can’t wait to argue with you in the forums of another failing game. Also, that I’ve been through some ■■■■ and done terrible ■■■■ IRL isn’t guilt shaming. It’s life and what I did over the last 15 years. If you did less good for you.

If more miners would stop mining “because it’s not profitable” then the ones who keep mining because WANT to as they ENJOY it, will have profitable mining. The reason it doesn’t pay well is BECAUSE of the zero effort alt miners with a bunch of accounts, don’t try to turn things around.

That’s what Scarcity has always been about: take power away from the afk grind alt army bots so that the economy can normalise so things become worthwhile again for normal players.

would like to see a fit that fullfill your suggestions, 2-3 mining links(if they implement a waste reduction one), 2shield links, 2+ RR, CiC to make these RR worthwhile, a compressing unit, a tractor beam to be able to pick up your fleets hulk jetcans(because of their hold size). with 6 highslots. mixed in with some self defense while being restricted on top by cpu and powergrid.

i would love to have my Orca fitted like you suggest but i doubt i´ll be able to…

You only need 1 mining link, the yield one. You don’t need the cap one and range is not needed if you’re not afk or alt/botting it. One shield link is enough, the shield extension one. That leaves 1 for a tractor and 3 for remote shield reps. Being able to rep 3 is more than enough to give gankers something extra to worry about in regards to their ability to kill the targets.

One would assume the orca gets an extra high for the new module, if not then you will have to make choices, like so many other players in other ships for other uses.

This is why CCP doing the standard ‘Oh, we’ll just have the Orca do it’ is furthering the bad game design that has plagued barges. Take the job off the Orca. Let the barges get bonused small RR so they can spider tank. Or let the Orca be like the nestor and have powerful, short range RR, but then the barges have long range, weaker RR.

I don’t even like the ‘Oh just bring a scimi’ option because industrialists have zero other reasons to train into minmitar cruisers. CCP _can_ fix this… if they’d be willing to think outside the damn box for once and address the horrible design of industrial ships. You’re telling me ORE can’t possibly design a remote repair platform that isn’t already bogged down with 8 other jobs…

You don’t know mining. You need yield AND range. @CPP, please ignore this ignorance / troll (not sure which). If you don’t know what you’re talking about (or worse do and ignore it) no one should value your input.

The warpin of a belt generally doesn’t have too much ore (if only because lazy miners mined that first) so that’s not a point nor an issue. Not being at the warpin is indeed a good idea but really only outside high sec where it’s generally roaming pvpers looking for targets. In high sec they will have scouts to facilitate the warpin. Sometimes that’s a cloaky but very often it’s some newbie, female, character in a Venture (with ship scanners and everything) who gets conveniently close to the targets or at the very least in line with the gate the gankers come from.

an even better idea. ships die, they get pulled in by the moons gravitation. therefore… moon goo should contain metal scraps, salvage, ship modules.
see, reasonable, unlike processed PI components.
or as suggested earlier, bring back alloys either in the goo, or in the npcs. that way you dont even have to be a miner to get building materials.

but seriously, back during redistribution you took rare and uncommon ores out of moons that had doubles. replaced them in theoretical value with ubiquitious ore virually doubling the m3 in a standard moon pull. if it wasnt for the mex and pyrite in that ore it simply would have rotted on the field since small groups couldnt mine all the addtional m3. it actually makes sense that moon goo would have other ores in it. so why the change? oh yeah, scarcity. apparently its still here

@aldarrin

I am posting with my main, and I agree with this message.

Range can be helpful. It’s absolutely convenient. But if you could only pick 1, you’re gonna pick yield.
