# Gallentia Government is no longer a democracy

[I made a similar observation](https://forums.eveonline.com/t/ilf-announces-support-for-intaki-autonomist-movement/400516/8) two years ago, during Intaki protests against the Federation’s militarisation of the system.

Perhaps a beauty pageant for the next Mr and Mrs Federation, and a prize for the prettiest ship speaks more accurately to the depths of democratic principle in the Gallente Federation, than a serious presidential election with real consequence for the lives of its people.

I’m sure President Aguard cares as deeply as those in attendance this weekend.
