I agree. That’s why I’m not ganked. If you’re in a combat ship, most will leave you alone. If you’re in a fast blockade runner and not on autopilot, most will leave you alone. If you’re in a well tanked freighter or exhumer, most will leave you alone. ---

I care about sec status on my main. But I have two off characters, one I only use for scouting or hanging out in Jita to price compare, and a third I don’t use for anything. I have heard how sec status hits aren’t anything for gankers to fix, I think it would be easy peasy to sacrifice an occasional hit on this tertiary character if they approach -5. I can only shrug and point out that it is easy to avoid gankers, and it is fun to mess with them, but the whining about them and the call for more nerfs to them has always been tedious, and spreads bad information about how to avoid or combat them. ---

It’s wild that a game supposedly built on risk vs. reward still lets low-effort players rack up killmails in high sec with all the danger of a _padded room_. At what point does ‘emergent gameplay’ just mean exploiting mechanics to avoid a fair fight? ---

Who in EVE is _not_ exploiting game mechanics in their own advantage to give themselves the best chance of survival? War deccers, nano kiters, blackops fleets, blobbers… everyone uses game mechanics in their advantage one way or another. It’s a common saying that ‘people who find themselves in a fair fight made a mistake’. Gankers are not unique in that. ---

While gankers have already accepted loss of a ship they can still fail an engagement if they get killed with no succesful kill. They’re not much different in that than all the others I mentioned. All of them can succeed or fail an engagement. ---
