What new players really need is a video guidebook in short, but to-the-point segments. The videos should use voice and visuals, with text as an option, AND NO DAMNED MUSiC. In the videos: One point that needs hammered up front is that EVE is very technical, yet not realistically technical. Its like a technical comic book or sci-fi movie, and you get to live in that crazy, over-technical, unrealstic sci-fi world. Next, they need to know that anywhere from 1/4 to 1/3 of the player base gets their jollies by trolling, flaming, destroying, attacking, BSing, lying or whatever they can do to make others angry, sad or even quit. No one is to be trusted too much. Maturity levels are LOW. This also applies to the forum. Subsequent videos like these: Help choosing a career path. Next, they need to know that just a single one of their million ideas for changing this game has as much chance of acceptance as them winning a multi-million USD lottery. This along with an explanation of technical limitiations being kneeled to make things function, and some examples of popular ideas that are not being acted on for whatever reasons it is that way. And a video giving tips on how to operate the machinery. How to set up the windows and hotkeys, stuff like that. Dscan and how it works Some run downs of a few basic fittings. A brief intro to some third party websites commonly used by players, with more detailed videos to follow for each site. etc. This could go on for a very long time. But some decently made videos would go a VERY long way. Heck, even just audio readings of select EVE University pages would probably be a huge help. Reading all that yourself usually means eyes and concetration off the game. Anbody could have that running in the background and play while learning. ---

From a wormholer perspective, even a day one character can get a crash course in dscanning, how to use tripwire and get them setup on our discord so they can report to us when they see something unusual. I think the best way would be to literally take one under your wing for whatever part of the game you play. ---

You and I could form a corp where we take on nothing but new players. We then move down to Stain with the new players and a few experienced players and have fun with missions or low value pvp, You and I would be on comms answering any questions the new players have and generally supporting and guiding them, In order to retain people in the game we must make it exciting, we must make the new players feel like part of our family and have them on the edge of their seat with excitement as much as possible. Helping new players is not as simple as placing cheap stock on the market I’m afraid. It has to be a sustained effort where the new players have access to you because you’ve organised a pvp event for example. I am 100% serious about this and I feel that you and I have something in common, we want to help move the game forward and retain more players. I’ll look forward to having some conversations with you. ---
