My husband has a soft spoken voice with a sight southern accent and he gets called miss on the phone by random sales calls. While my voice sounds like a young boy or girl, with age it has become more rough. I am far from soft spoken and when angry I often swear. I swear even when I am not angry. The only way to know for sure is a face to face, and even then in many cases… I will just say those 3 men in “Too Wong Foo” were convincing as women. Have fun! ---

You suggested picture as proof. In a group conversation where the sex of at least some of the participants are known, you can also listen for a speaker’s pattern variance. While men often speak in a similar manner to both men and women, women tend to speak differently when talking to a man than when talking to another woman. Caveat: The above is based on generalities of human behavior—the _typical_ product of biological hardwiring plus socialization. For any number of reasons, exceptions certainly exist. ---
