# I want to use my current version of wine for my launcher, but I don't know where the wine executable is

What exactly am I looking for? What is the normal path to the wine executable?

i’m on linux, Ubuntu 18.4

I’ve got it working on Wine but I can’t remember how - search for the forums for some detailed step-by-step instructions, they’re here somewhere.

Just write `wine`. It should be in your PATH already

open terminal use

> whereis wine

if wine is not installed, don’t install it ! You need to add the apt repo, then install wine-staging from it, and then add the /opt/wine-staing/ to you PATH (eg in HOME/.bashrc )
