OP you aren’t thinking creatively enough.

When I first returned from my 10 year hiatus, one of the very first things I did was mine in a barge in lowsec, and then later NPC nullsec. While I was getting my bearings, I wound up doing ore-for-ore volume based trades with a highsec miner. I made sure the trades were in my favor but not excessively beyond the market. I was willing to trade away Isogen ores because… well, that’s all I had. And the highsec miners I traded with were willing to trade for Isogen ores because… well, they didn’t have any. And all of us involved were able to avoid taxes, fees, and wait times of the market.

No ISK traded hands. I got a mix of high/low/null ores and so did they.

Nothing stops you from doing the same.

For lowsec / jspace? Use covetor - you can fit it for align time under 5s. Just pay attention to dscan. Remember: you can’t be caught if you ain’t there. Covetor fills up so fast that you will be gone in few minutes. Just consider it lost and as such insure it, because you will lose it at one point but by then it will have repaid itself many times over.

There are plenty sources of isogen and nocxium in hisec. There are also rare ore belts if you need to top up.

But you do have nocxium in j-space? I have seen in it in ore anomalies.

Not since the resource redistribution.

i use covetors/porpoise for gas sites in my bearhole, prospects/bifrost downchain.

True. I must been confused because of some rocks that in the past used to have nocxium in them.

I do daytrip now and then into holes, either for gas or ore, align fitted covetor is the way for me. Porpoise would be good once I have more than 1 miner.

Do you use bifrost for micro jump field generator?

add a booster as your fourth mining character.
at that point, they’re adding another mining vessel. if you only have two or three, then just take extra barges, your total yield will be higher. (drones may make it worth as a third, but not 100% sure as I mostly mine gas, not rocks)

you can put mining links on a command dessy. they don’t have a hull bonus, but with max skills and a mindlink, it’s still, 35% extra yield.

the jump field is used for GTFO and bouncing between gas clouds.

Gnosis also makes a good gas booster, can slap 5 huffers on it and expand the cargo to the same as a venture

Just buy the caracal. Most T1 ships sell for 10-15% below what it costs to make them. So lets say you mine all the mats for a T1 Cruiser. You can check the market and see that if you build it, you will sell said cruiser for X isk and if you sell the materials, you can sell them to buy orders in Jita for X+10-15%.

Waste of time, just sell the minerals and let the no math people make the ships.

Ok, you mine when you are bored, but I think that you are bored because you mine.
It is an endless cycle, kinda like your mining lasers

> it is not all about the isk i make plenty thanks. its about mining and production of t1 items in high sec the lack of profit due to super silly prices on isogen and that it feels a shame your better off just selling the ore than to make things.

This is simply incorrect.

First of all, a few things you should keep in mind.

1. Mineral distributions have been adjusted _several_ times in recent years
2. High sec t1 production has mostly been unprofitable…forever. That includes the times both prior to and during said mineral adjustments.

Those items have poor profit margins because they are trivial to supply and (mostly) also in pretty low demand. Nobody really uses t1 meta 0 modules - they’re mostly made for T2 production, and you typically build your own in that case.

Since they are trivial to produce, every clown with a venture and a dream of being an internet spaceship industrialist can start churning them out below cost with the “free” minerals they mined themselves. The most obvious path available to every new player who wants to Make Stuff is to make T1 Stuff and those items are virtually _all_ oversupplied in major markets. You’re trying to make the same things all the other newbs are trying to make.

T1 ship hulls are a little bit better in that they at least have actual demand, but again - trivial to produce and usually overproduced in hubs, which depresses prices.

My recommendation would be to do _something else_ and revisit manufacturing later. If you really want to do manufacturing right now, you’re probably going to have to sit down with some spreadsheets and a significantly different attitude than you’ve displayed so far or you’re just going to piss away money.

Its actually pretty profitable.
Not for ships though.

Remember that thanks to CCP not updating the adjusted prices ( see [Huge discrepancies in industry tax application](https://forums.eveonline.com/t/huge-discrepancies-in-industry-tax-application/420671/) ) , you can build _some_ items in Jita with (almost) no manufacturing tax.
And _some_ of those items have a 20% margin on the direct sell. Just saying …
Also people are trying to pump&dump so don’t go to fast or you’ll buy your mats on the pump.

That hurt my feelings. 😭 😭 😂 😂

So, what I bought 3 bil in t2 mats to produce Caldari ships?! That rot in my hanger today. I am an industralist. 🤡

Great point tho. I prefer the term hobbyist when I do indy. 😛

This is somewhat incorrect. There are plenty of T1 items with “fat” margins (defined by percentage, not actual value). Finding these positions and not crashing them is a bit of an art. But plenty of T1 is profitable. Except T1 hulls. Most T1 hulls are unprofitable. And people do use t1 meta 0 modules all the time. Try fitting dozen of ships with meta guns. You will quickly learn that the supply is highly limited.

If High Sec mining was dead then no more ships would be being built right now. High sec mining is very active and plenty of capacity to keep low and null sec supplied for industry. You can get the other ores like Isogen and Nocxium by mining ore anomalies in high sec. Never have a problem getting these ores at all.

They are in High Sec. Go to the Agency and look at Ore Anomalies. You’ll find these minerals in 0.5 systems which border a low sec system. GUARANTEED. Just don’t use slow ships to get there because people are racing to these ores. I always use an expedition since I can do jumps much faster.

Also thread necrophilia is an ambiguous, so irrelevant rule. If the limit is 40 days, then people should spam the thread at day 39 ? That’s literally what happens on some thread where people complain against CCP and post once a month to say “stil here”. Also why make it a rule when the thread is auto closed after 40 days ?

Yah I know it’s very subjective.

I just “feel” like if it has reached a natural conclusion then you know… The thread should find its final resting place. Is the post “meaningful” or just another person adding their 2 cents? (Again all subjective)

**I COULD just attack his points but I know that person was just dropping their 2 cents and is likely already long gone.** Gotta separate the meaningful posts from just people piling on or necroing a thread with their 2 cents.

It should be sooner tbh but I am just another average joe I can’t make anything change.
