16 years ago today, the Empress Jamyl 1 (may her soul be at peace), made the [Historic Announcement](https://universe.eveonline.com/new-eden-news/empress-jamyl-i-makes-historic-emancipation-announcement) that emancipated a great many of the ethnically Minmatar slaves in the Empire, and heralded the approach of the end of generational slavery in the Empire. Imperial politics proceed at the normal pace, with a normal amount of progress having been made on this issue since the Announcement, and the succession of Empress Catiz 1 (long may she reign). Nothing of significance happened in the past year to affect theological issues in the Empire. May Saint Ageroth bless everyone in the coming year, except for the normal exceptions (You know who you are). ---

Ave, Sister Dougans, I hope this finds you well and that you have a Blessed and Holy New Year! There was one matter of some significance that received surprisingly little coverage and which may be of interest to you.
