Well when you are starting to feel limited, that’s when you should probably subscribe. Do that either with the monthly thing or buying PLEX with ISK ---

Just to be certain, you do understand there is a difference between T1 gear and Meta (1,2,3,4,etc.) gear. As the game stands now anyone who can use a T1 piece of gear can by extension use all the Meta’s as well, as they are T1 too, just not in explicit name. Do you mean to restrict Alphas to _ONLY_ the T1 hardware or will they have the use of all the Meta’s too? Downvote. What is the point in yet another chip at the skill training tree except to someday eliminate it entirely? ---

My idea for Alphas… Either reduce LP rewards for FW plexing by 85%, reducing their earnings to put it more in-line for what is required to replace t1 alpha ships, or give them a separate/unique outpost with an LP reward that is in-line with what they would need to replace ships. Too many people are creating FW alphas and defensive plex farming to pay for their main’s account. That’s a system that feels broken to me. There are other ways of earning enough isk to pay for the account without creating such an impact on the militia’s gameplay. I also think this will promote more alpha vs alpha pvp, meaning neither party has a giant advantage over the other. Having less LP rewards given combined with restricted outposts also gives them reason to stay and defend the outpost. Every little bit of rewards count when you are so limited. I understand that farming LP for isk helps fuels the demand for plex, which allows players to sell plex for a healthy chunk of isk, but my understanding was that the alpha clones are meant to pull new players into the game, not give existing players a very easy way to farm isk. ---

I play as both alpha and omega as my budget allows and I think the balance between them I think is quite fair. As an alpha I’m able to do quite a bit and can at least participate with others. The only ‘balance’ I think alphas need is with each other. Currently Gallente alpha’s have a serious advantage over the others. Even if the alpha combat ships are perfectly balanced with each other Gallente still have the specialized haulers which still makes them the best choice. ---

As an alpha you have access to all skills and equipment in the game. “What? How so?” you ask. Well I’ll tell you… You have the ability to earn isk in the game as an alpha. There are many different ways to do this. Once you earn enough isk, you can buy 500 plex and become an omega for 30 days. As an omega you have access to everything in the game. Now this may require some grinding to earn enough isk each month. That’s why CCP offers you the option to pay for a subscription to avoid using isk to get Omega status. But the ability to have access for no real world currency is available for EVERY player… through buying PLEX using in-game currency only. Given that fact… I see little need to give anything more to alphas. If you want to play on hard mode… use isk to plex and you have access to the full game. If you want to play on easy mode… use real world money to subscribe. If you want to play on SUPER EASY mode… buy a bunch of plex an sell them for isk and buy everything you need (including skill injectors) to get everything you want in game without taking any grind at all. It’s your choice as to how you go about it… but everything is available for free if you want to grind for it. ---

Looks like the pleading got heard. CCP Rise just announced on stage of the EVE Vegas keynote that ~~Alphas~~ something like Alphas will be able to use: - T2 light and medium Weapons - Battlecruiser - Battleships - And a lot of other stuff I didn’t get a hang on just now. That is to people that were to Omega that trained up to a certain amount of skills, so it’s a form of “Beta”, a special Alpha that used to be Omega ---

No problem! I will definitely suggest to give a different name to these “alphas” tho, since having two types of Alphas will be confusing for some. Beta sounds nice, or Charlie ---

Not exactly. It seems that Alphas will be able to train for T2 Small and medium weapons. Also, they will be able to train for T1 Large weapons and Battlecruisers and Battleships though it seems there will be limits on how far they can take those skills. Also, there will be no racial restriction for Alphas. The limits on training time still stay and you will be only able to accumulate 5M SP as a free account. Anything beyond this you need to be omega. However skills you learn as omega will stay with you as an alpha assuming they are on the alpha list. ---
