It’s a very dense, slow moving lava, advancing towards the sea at about 700 meters an hour. ---

Iceland might be longer, but La Palma is more spectacular… and destructive. This video shows the collpase of the north flank, on the 21st day of eruption. Part of the new lava stream destroyed last night what little was left of the burough of Todoque; the town has been completely wiped from the face of Earth. The local government is looking for urgent action to prevent the zone being declared protected natural space as to leave open a chance of rebuilding the town near its original location. ---

…and today sh¡t just got real. Watch how lava overflows the main cone… > The lava flow has split into three streams and the town of La Laguna has been evacuated since one of the streams is already destroying structures nearby to the town. ---
