**LET’S BE HONEST ABOUT FRACTURED SKIES — CCP IS MISSING THE MARK COMPLETELY**

 Hey CCP,
The whole Theaters of War concept sounded fine on corporate whiteboard sessions, but the upcoming Fractured Skies expansion feels completely disconnected from the actual player base. There are some serious, structural red flags here that you desperately need to address before November 10th.
First, locking the new Navy Battlecruiser BPCs exclusively behind Faction Warfare LP stores is an absolute disaster for the ecosystem. You are blatantly forcing a massive chunk of your player base—industrialists, null-sec blocs, wormholers, and high-sec miners—into a specific, forced gameplay loop they have zero interest in. Instead of organically reviving FW, you’re just creating an artificial paradise for market speculators and scalpers. Regular players shouldn’t be penalized with insane open-market price gouging just to try out the Naga or Tornado Fleet Issues. Industry should be open, not gated to prop up failing metrics.

Second, these “Synchronized Modules” are a balancing nightmare waiting to explode. EVE players are notorious for breaking every single mathematical model you throw at them. Min-maxed mega-alliances will weaponize these scaling stats within 48 hours of launch, completely destroying the current PvP meta and erasing tactical diversity. This feels completely untested in real-world, large-scale conditions and highly dangerous for the long-term health of the sandbox.
Then there is the new HUD. Please, stop trying to fix what isn’t broken. Cramming shields, armor, structure, capacitor, and heat into one tight, chaotic radial cluster completely ruins decades of muscle memory. Split-second readability is the literal line between life and death in heavy PvP, and this new UI is just a confusing, over-designed geometric mess. Thank god it’s optional at launch, but we need an absolute guarantee that you won’t force this experiment on us down the road. We prefer clean, functional traditional bars over visual gimmicks.

Also, tying EVE Vanguard directly to planetary corruption in the main game feels incredibly forced. Space capsuleers shouldn’t see their hard work and sovereign infrastructure altered by people playing a separate, alpha-state shooter. On top of that, locking Vanguard behind an Omega sub while letting it actively interfere with the main sandbox feels like a cheap, double-dip monetization strategy disguised as “interconnected gameplay.”
The timeline is another joke that completely kills the launch hype. Releasing the patch on November 10th but locking the actual Conquests season until February 2027 is a lazy, artificial way to stretch out content and keep sub metrics afloat. Players want a complete, meaningful expansion on day one, not a roadmap of empty promises spread across half a year.

Finally, we need to talk about the real elephant in the room. EVE has been stuck with the exact same four core empires—Amarr, Caldari, Gallente, and Minmatar—for over twenty years. Every single expansion just recycles their stale, predictable conflicts. We don’t need another lazy reskin of old battlecruisers tailored exclusively to force people into FW. EVE desperately needs a tectonic, historical shift. It is high time to introduce a 5th major playable empire to the character selection screen. Give us a completely new playable race with its own ship trees, unique weapon mechanics, and entirely new regions of space to conquer. Stop milking the original four factions and actually expand the game.

**Please start listening to your veteran community instead of your marketing spreadsheets.**
Tweak the module scaling, make the new hulls obtainable through broader industrial means, and leave our HUD alone. We don’t need a roadmap of promises to justify our subscription. Stop reshaping the bars of the old cage—actually expand the universe.

I agree so much with this. When “NERDS” previewed the CoW/ToW triple arc back in February I was genuinely excited. That excitement completely dissipated within a week after release.

It turns out the entire exercise is designed to prop up Vanguard and to drive people into FW. Funny kind of sandbox.

You are missing the grand scale of the argument, and that’s exactly the problem with modern EVE community—you are too used to collecting crumbs left by developers. Triglavians and EDENCOM are nothing but dynamic balance patches wrapped in lazy lore dressing. They are not playable races. You cannot choose a Triglavian on the character selection screen. You don’t get a dedicated, populated, civilized sovereignty with starter academies, distinct cultural lineages, and entire constellations of fresh solar systems waiting to be mapped and conquered from scratch. Triglavians are just pre-packaged ship trees gated behind regular loyalty points and dead PvE grids. It is an illusion of innovation. When I demand a 5th major playable empire, I am demanding a historical expansion of the sandbox itself. EVE desperately needs a completely new playable civilization added to the baseline character creator—with its own structural design, brand-new weapon systems that break the current mechanical meta, and whole new, untouched regions of space outside the stale 23-year-old map. Stop settling for reskins and recycled event content. Stop trying to fix a crumbling house by repainting a broken fence. Fenris Creations needs to stop milking the original four factions and finally expand the actual universe.

Exactly. You mention the Drifters, and we must remember the Sleepers as well—a faction whose tragic lore I have already dissected in my Chronicles. The Sleepers and the Drifters are the ultimate proof of Fenris Creations’ creative stagnation. They took the most terrifying, deeply complex Jovian heritage, simulated virtual constructs where silicon decayed and consciousness melted, and turned them into nothing but sterile, static shooting targets for wormhole farmers. It is a cinematic insult to the sandbox. Your submissive phrase, “we all know that wont happen,” is the exact reason why the game is suffocating under corporate marketing spreadsheets. The player base has accepted the bars of the cage. You expect nothing, so you receive reskins. **But I refuse to look at the cold void of New Eden through the lens of your defeatism. If the developers have forgotten how to weave Platonic design and tectonic lore into the character creator, then my Pen will remind them. The blueprint for real innovation is already here.**

> locking the new Navy Battlecruiser BPCs exclusively behind Faction Warfare LP stores is an absolute disaster

Preface: before my whole comment, I just want to say I don’t want to deny you from providing your opinion, what follow is more to help you reformulate it.

Adding: only commenting on your first point.

* * *

To be honest, navy ships (and their BPCs) have only made sense to buy from their FW LP stores). For as long as I can remember. Just check the Hookbil (an old hull) as an example. In the Caldari Navy LP store it will cost you between 30k LP (+ ~10M ISK worth of stuff) to 50k LP, for a ship you can buy “fully built” and ready to fly, on the market for ~9M ISK. You are basically, already, from forever, wasting LP (down the drain, for no good reason) when you buy the Hookbill (and any existing navy ships) from a regular security corporation (like Caldari Navy). Plus you are also negative on ISK. No offence, but from forever, buying the navy ships from these corporations is DUMB.

Compare that to the same Hookbil from the State Protectorate LP store, at 4k LP + ~3M ISK worth of stuff. There, you make profit. Fuzzwork calculates that you get your 3M ISK investment back, and you gain 1200ISK per LP invested.

From Fenris perspective, the goal is to give an incentive for players to join a militia. There are plenty of other faction item specific to FW LP stores, like faction drones, but also other navy ships that were released somewhere in the past 5 years, like navy destroyers and the Ferox, as an example.

I say this, and I’m a devout, unapologetic, carebear who will never join a militia. For my industrialist toon, I just build other things.

So, my main point is: you are “missing the mark” since your comment is focused on the upcoming battlecruiser BPCs, when actually navy ships bpc only available in the FW LP store is a thing from a long time. The pain you describe should be felt from a long time ago already, and I would expect the null sec people who get most of the seats on the CSM must have voiced such similar opinion already, if it was the case (not saying it is or not, I don’t know, I don’t want anything to do with non-carebear activities, so I didn’t care to find out what they advocate for themselve (said in a place of love, they do them, I do me))

Also and lastly, I’m looking at the Cormorant, Corax and Ferox navy BPCs (FW LP store exclusives) from the State Protectorate LP store on Fuzzwork, and they have a similar ~1200-ish ISK per LP ratio compared to the Hookbill and Drake navy (both available on FW LP store and CN LP store). So it seems like the stupid high price paid by some players at the early release of those BPCs has settled down to “normal” values. Offer and demand regulated itself in the long run.

So, as my preface says, don’t focus on the upcoming navy BC BPCs, it is a larger “issue” (exclusives and FW LP stores being the only store where they make sense to buy, else you are better to buy them “built” in Jita). If you want to make a point, you have to include all of the navy ship BPCs and demonstrate how this hurt the game already, from whatever how long this is the case.

Also, just to point out, that these people are also currently “forced” into doing high-sec stuff (and low sec agents, also outside their regular space) to engage with standard Navy LP store.

Let’s clear some things up here.

Gerard Amatin, keep your lazy ‘AI slop’ paranoia to yourself. Just because you can’t process a structured, high-effort critique doesn’t mean a machine wrote it. Go click my profile and check my chronicles, my poetry about Snuff titan drops, or my official forum essays. I’ve literally written a whole piece about the dread of an AI singer (Zora Winslet) and digital emptiness. Meanwhile, you’re out here acting like a broken Concord bot with your generic forum-warrior buzzwords. Disagree all you want, but don’t hide your lack of arguments behind lazy insults.

Suki Vokkonen, I appreciate the civil breakdown, but you’re looking at this strictly through the narrow lens of an established carebear. Yes, the market eventually settles down after months. We all know that. But my point is about day-one game design. Gating brand-new, highly anticipated hulls exclusively behind FW LP at launch starves the initial industry. It forces Null, WH, and High-sec builders to either depend on Jita speculators or get dragged into low-sec grinds they hate right when the expansion hype is peaking. This isn’t about old Hookbill math—it’s about CCP forcing players into specific playstyles just to pump up their FW metrics.

Honestly, the modern EVE community is already acting like AI at this point—running blindly on scripts, Fuzzwork spreadsheets, and obedient Discord pings. Go look at how dead the actual human soul of this sandbox is before you defend another corporate spreadsheet decision. The void doesn’t care about your compliance.

Yes, I use a translator because English is not my first language, and I wanted to express my complex thoughts clearly instead of writing broken English. I’m just sick of reading AI-written text. The cadence of it, the mannerism, it’s awful and on top of that also shows everyone that _no_ high effort went into it when you let AI do the bulk of the work.

It is obvious that yours is AI-written text, even without the AI scan Kirin posted above to confirm it.

I read a lot of text, here on the forums and elsewhere. I don’t mind if your post is isn’t in perfect English or with perfect grammar. English isn’t my first language either. Put it through a translator if you have to, just don’t let an LLM write your post from start to end.

Thing is (about the BPCs), you don’t suggest any way to get them otherwise, so I ask, to help your case, how do you see them made available other than from an LP store? If you simply meant regular security corp LP store, again, NS/WH people already probably rarely use them, because they won’t farm the LP in their regular space, they “have to” get out of their routine and “forced” to farm LP. Even if I’m a carebear, I can understand them not wanting to go in HS if they “hate” it (or could be the distance, the transport, etc), because I have the same feeling, just the other way around.

To help you, here is a proposition (maybe a bad one? but at least one): add Caldari Navy rats in Syndicate (as a beginning, testing the waters). Is there still belts to patrol in Syndicate? Combat anoms ? What about “elite” State rats with similar chance to spawn as the Dread/Domination/etc. ? With chance of dropping Frigate/Cruiser/BC/BS blueprints? What about, similar to Pochven, the Caldari Navy fleet can be seen battling the local faction pirates (and a rare chance for an elite state rat to spawn)? After some time, if it works and doesn’t break the market, replicate this with the other 3 empires in some designated region(s) or constellation(s). NS only? LS would make more sense ? HS too, in 0.5? What about new faction navy “officer” spawn in those areas, with, you guessed it, chance to drop the BPCS and brand new officer modules? Similar to normal pirate officers, 0.5 that would be frigate size, LS cruiser size, NS BC or BS size? They would obviously start appearing blue or white, depending on your standing with them at first, and then whatever you decide, leave them be and keep your standings, or fight them and lose some because you value the loot more than your standings.

I understand this does not address the WH players. But I think I read somewhere that Caldari, Minmatar and Amarr have control over some wormholes, or maybe I got this wrong, I skipped that event.

Thank you for the constructive feedback and actually focusing on the game mechanics. I really like your idea about adding elite Navy spawns to combat anomalies or belts in specific regions. It gives null-sec players and industrialists an organic, combat-driven way to source the BPCs without being forced into Faction Warfare or High-sec running. This is exactly the kind of alternative loop CCP should consider to keep the sandbox balanced.
