> I would put Blackout as permanent, but only in the systems where a Triglavian Invasion is running. In the other systems I would put the local just as it was before. With both options available I think everyone would be happy.

What i think we need is a system that works for everyone. My idea would be, if the blackout is here to stay, is as follows:

Permanent blackout - If you own sov in nullsec you can have local by way of a structure. Structure can be attacked/RF’d etc.

Only those blue or on ACL can see local for that system. Red/Neuts etc can not. This is a perk to holding Sov. This structure could be one per system based or one per constellation.

If you are red/neut and you want to see local in enemy territory then i propose a few options:

1. Ship module/comms module that lets pilot see local. Can see any local.
2. Deployable Comms module - Lets fleet see module. Limited life on module 30 mins or fuel required and it can be refueled. Could be limited to range it sees in local dependent on size and we could have 2-3 size of modules.
3. Covert Ops comms module - Lets Cov Ops/BLOPS see local in a fleet. Doesn’t show on overview unless on grid. Similar to a Yet for scanning down.

The details above can be discussed and tweaked but i hope you see the idea. This way there are ways for all parties, Sov holders and aggressors have a mechanic to support their needs.

Any views on system such as this?

Any attempt to fix the Blackout is against the chaos policy.

The idea is to end the recurrent patches over wrong decisions which has been going for years in EVE. If they start adding band-aids to the Blackout, it will be the same thing all over again.

If they end up doing such thing, it will just add to many people’s disappointment on the lack of creativity from EVE’s devs.

In my opinion, Blackout either stays or goes.
And given it’s unpopularity and the negative consequences that are pouring around everywhere, I think it will just go and with it, the non-existent chaos crapscade.

There is nothing wrong with attempting to make the game “interesting” by altering the environment. The problem is that in this case, that environment is localized and affecting a whole line of gaming style promoted by the game’s foundation, which is careers.

I insist that there could have been many other paths to implement the chaos concept through effort and creativity, giving it to the players in the form of weapons, rigs, modules, ships, etc. Whatever you can come up with. But it is too hard, the money we pay isn’t seem to be enough to even ask why, why flip such disproportionate switch instead of delivering a competent product. We deserve much more but apparently cannot demand it.

That your ideas are good? of course! … doable? maybe.

But I refuse to allow CCP any attempt to patch the BO and I think everyone should be on the same line. We’ve been told otherwise, we’ve been told that this “chaos” objective is in part to end the recurrent issues I’ve mentioned. We should not let them get away with it.

One could argue that Blackout is a good decision but it would be the same as asking a business owner if he likes the new walkway rules that affect his storefront exposure. It would be good for some but in detriment of others. But eventually, if the business goes, there will be no use for that walkway. A peasant will tell you a whole different story, especially if he never laid a brick on the walkway he pretends to claim.

In the short term it might be unpopular among the risk-adverse nullbears and empire builders, but that’s largely the same group that represented an existential threat to the entire game’s economy. The Black out was a very elegant simple solution that goes far to remedy that problem. For the balanced and well organized alliances, BO has been a boom and will continue to reward as minerals and faction deadspace loot prices climb. We’ve had a flush of returning players because of the BO–they didn’t come back JUST to krab–a good thing for the game.

Can’t remove alliances Legacy is fighting from a battle report of a fight of involving groups they are fighting in their space.

Whether you are in the same fleet or not - You are all red to Legacy AND attacking the same Legacy assets.

I guess next you’ll say PL and Goons should be removed - Because they aren’t in Waffles alliance.

Did Frat not shoot the same targets the rest of you did?
Were they shooting you? I’d say no as none were on any of your lossmails - But hay if we’re splitting hairs so finely …

Here is my take on numbers. Those new players that came for the BO and the myriad returning players _because_ of BO

As someone said out there… what kind of activity are these “returning” players engaging on?
If something was to be found when coming back is a totally different landscape which btw, eliminates whatever reason for coming back.

They are all sitting quietly waiting for the Industrial Cyno on T1 haulers - Nothing like those high risk 1 million isk killmails to get the blood pumping.,. Lete PVP’rs everywhere are ready and waiting.,.

Come on CCP - JF pilots all over New Eden are just waiting for you to drive the next nail into the coffin of their play style.,.

Good point regarding their supposed skills, although I could argue that there are plenty of talented people in the EVE community that are not affiliated to any of the blocs. And I would argue that given their inability, unwillingness and laziness in challenging CCP, their current affiliations do matter.

As far as the blackout + cyno, the numbers dont lie. Blackout + cyno= drop in players

Given the release of WoW Classic there may or may not be a drop due just to Blackout, no one can tell.

We don’t know how many players are on…we only have accounts. Haven’t seen anything which suggest drop isn’t mostly from fewer bottling accounts, players using fewer accounts at same time due to higher risk, or simple fewer cloaky camper alts. In our alliance our number of players has gone up.

We were never on the same grid as FRAT

Your understanding of how Zkill works is as poor as the rest of it.

This is completely false conjecture not to mention misrepresenting on behalf of other players that either don’t bother with this cesspool of a forum or are quite happy with the game they have come back to enjoy.

If you or anyone else has a problem with the lack of null local-express it coherently.

- 4 accounts that are not botted accounts.

I sit there and manual pilot when I played. All now desubbed and bet I am not the only one.

And if you think bots would have stopped playing you are deluded. They (botters) would have just moved to the next bottable activity.

My accounts wont be resubbed until blackout is over. If it doesn’t end I am adapting by living life more fully.

Interesting, Frat are on many of the same kills as Waffles.
Maybe Frat have ships with weapons that can shoot from “off grid”.

Oh my dear sad little person, did i hit a raw nerve, did you just resub only to find it wasn’t what CCP promised you? - Sarcasm is a thing.,. Don’t try to read more into a simple troll post than it says.,.

As you probably know, EVE players are creatures of habit and a game as good WoW classic will not stop EVE players from getting on and doing their jobs for corp, alliance and/or coalition. So the WoW classic excuse is just that excuse.

In your alliance numbers have gone up because of small entities shutting down, joining bigger entities or simply merging, which is all a result of Blackout. As far as the bots, if you think bots are the ones who are leaving the game, I am sorry but that is wrong. Bots have simply been updated or simply moved to other spots in EVE.

And in regards to players using fewer accounts, guess what. As much as I dont like second accounts or alts, that is also a negative aspect of the blackout which will show on the CCP earnings and shows negatively for CCP on the stats
