As I said, I’ll still be playing.

I’m just playing 1 account rather than 4, and playing lowsec FW PvP rather than any kind of long term “empire building” (even if my empire was miniscule).

The game is what it is. But what it isn’t is one where we can rely on CCP to keep things stable enough to warrant a long term financial investment in the game. I think CCP thought that with the end of the blackout people would re-sub the alt-accounts they were running and they’ll get the numbers they lost back.

I don’t think that’s really going to happen.

> You know, a number of us have gone back and actually looked for early descriptions of nullsec. It’s described—from the very start, right up through to this month—as ‘lawless’ space, but there’s nothing about it being designed to be ‘unsafe’. Null is what the residents of null make it. Some people (and I know this will seem shocking) don’t like having strangers wandering into their homes at all hours of the night, raiding their fridge, eating their chips, and drinking all their booze. They like ‘home’ to be someplace where they feel reasonably safe.

This is fine and not the core problem, nor even really what CCP was addressing with the Blackout.

The problem is that nullsec is both extremely lucrative and safe, not that it is lawless and safe. The very real problem CCP is trying to correct is the economy-destroying levels of income flowing into nullsec, in the absence of real risk, or at least sufficient destruction.

I think it a perfectly fine game design idea to make nullsec lawless, but very safe if they players make it so, as long as it is not especially lucrative. But risk vs. reward and all means that it really can’t be both safe, and the place most of the resources are flowing into the game.

CCP spent the whole summer telling how great the dampening down on resource faucets caused by the Blackout would be for the game, only to clumsily reverse it. They _will_ try something else, and there are other ways to fix the imbalance that don’t involve increasing the risk, but rather tamping down on the faucets directly.

I’ll guess we’ll see what CCP does next.

CCP was not addressing anything with the blackout, but screwing with operations and lives in null sec territories. And helping make big entities bigger than what they are already.

Right, but it _is_ something that’s come up in this thread, from players, again and again. That’s all.

Which, as I’ve indicated [above](https://forums.eveonline.com/t/local-comms-blackout-discussion-thread-part-deux/176410/4240), were _already_ dropping off.

CCP also spent the whole summer not mentioning that continuing existing trends as of June/July would’ve seen ratting and mining revenue levels drop to about where they are now by… this month or next. I mean, just follow those pre-BO trend-lines.

No you don’t, you post simply to see your name in print.
You don’t “discuss” anything, you make up stories and try to convince others they are true.
Your pitiful killboard shows the same activity as it did during BO (very select prey hunted by a very risk averse wallet warrior who likes to cry about how hard Eve is). Only difference now is - Your kill to loss ratio is evening out because you can’t fly around completely undetected unless you stay in WH space.

You are a ganker who gets all upset when he can’t find his fav prey - Defenceless frigates. You then come to whine on the forums in the hope you might get some sympathy - Sorry no sympathy for the self entitled wallet warrior.,.

Sadly CCP has put a lot of resources into getting your type of player into the game.
Just a shame you did it the “easy” way or you may have gained an understanding of how the game is played without skill injectors and a credit card.

> [@lepro\_incin](#):
>
> local does make null just a no go zone for the less confident players (its not going to stop me from wandering) but it makes it less challenging to those guarding home turf and more challenging to anyone who doesnt have covert ops cloaking ability.

So what you are saying is - Those who fly covert ops ships should have all the advantages over those who are prepared to set up things to protect friends from covert ops.
Interesting take - Covops has always been OP made even more so by BO, now things are back to normal, covops want to complain it is too hard?

I’d suggest if you want to do the covops bomber thing, find Bombers Bar and join up with them - They have never complained about how hard it is to kill things, even supers, in their bombers in nulsec.

It will take some time before the true BO generated issues get to the surface.

It may be true that some places have had so much loss that they now seem traffic-less at certain TZ.

I too would love for everyone who left because of BO to come back but I’ve heard statements indicating it will not happen.

As I said, the damage is done.

If CCP went back to the days of planned change and players were in the loop, at least knew the basics of what was coming it might get more to return but CCP’s new “secret squirrel” mode of development is eroding trust between players and company.
This is never good in any game, let alone one that is as old as Eve.

If BO showed us nothing else, it is that without players in space doing what they do, Eve is a pretty barren, lonely place where not much happens.

Ah leave them to cry and sulk as they’ll be back in their own time. I liked the blackout because it pushed the sov community hard and caused many of them to adapt or leave, if I was a sov guy I think I would have still enjoyed eve with the lights out.

If only I was that cocky 24 year old again I would have been all over the BO in Sov on the front line.

The Blackout had no impact on Sov issues. All sov structures give _immediate_ reports to their owners as soon as the entosis link is effective. More importantly, nobody really bothers trying to contest initial hacks. Instead, you wait for the nodes to spawn when the structure comes out of RF, and have overwhelming force ready to react in addition to your primary response fleet and hackers.

Blackout was good but it also teached me that local in null sec is one very small thing that needs to be changed!
The game is broken at it’s core! Way too many timers to wait… It’s becoming more of an a waiting game!
2019 people want to play the game rather than login to wait another timer…

It shouldnt be like that, the reason no one contests initial hacks (which should be the primary response) is because sov self repairs - it really REALLY should NOT do that.

> [@Oliver\_Delorean](#):
>

yeh cus people whine that they get trolled too much because nullsec sov is absolutely full of people who want it way too easy and dont really want to interupt their daily isk grind to protect their very own sov…

i did lol.. also; i like fish 🙂

> [@Ravid\_Bheskagor](#):

it is and it isnt, i dont think it should be a blanket no local, i think npc null should be different and that there should be structures for sov groups but not able to easily stick in every system (gotta be an active system)
That way npc null differs again from sov space.
Theres lots of ‘no mans land’
Sov groups have to actively rat in different systems to keep their intel network working.

And so on…

YAY
anyway…
