If that is the case it took a blackout to make it happen , as I have stated before there were successful PVP players even with local up , it was the lazy I want easy kills PVP crowd that failed to hunt while it was up.

Nah. The subcap’s best defense is just not be where the bad guys are looking. You’re not going to save a Dominix before 50 bombers can fire a second torp volley.

Yes because they were abiding the practice— though it would be a lot more fun if Drifters were actually extraction the fines by blowing stuff up-- let them be the arm of CCPs punishments.

I’m unsure if you’ve been reading this thread properly or if you have a firm grasp on current events in Eve. There are lots of things to do in Eve and most of the activities involve the possibility of someone coming to shoot you. I am irritated because up until the blackout I thought everyone still playing Eve was enthusiastic about the game and happy to go along with innovative ideas like drifters and Blackout. (Didn’t any of you see Firefly?)

So yes I insult the quitters cos they are weak players who depend entirely on local chat immediate mode to do their chosen activity instead of seeing it as an opportunity to learn new skills or new play styles they just quit.

ROFL X5, I can’t get up off the floor for laughing sooo hard
Exactly what you said;
“The debate isn’t who likes FPS games or not, the debate is why is so many players resolve so weak? I insult or belittle because you put the game that I love in jeopardy with your silly, lazy and emotional decision to quit just because local chat is delayed.”

Now just think about that and your last comment… One states you are annoyed that players are leaving, not playing due to the blackout.
The other says you are annoyed at the direction the game is taking and the future of Eve.

Please tell us all “which is it” are you peeved at CCP or players that just don’t want to deal with such fruitless game breaking (for many) changes?

Personally, I blame CCP - They are the ones who for years refused to listen to players when it came to poor development decisions which ultimately led to what the game is today.

I’ve recently returned after a year off and coming up to 16 years playing this game. I’m not sure about blackout as it is too restricting for my play style but for now i’m trying to find ways to deal.
My 15 accounts have 12 days of 30 sub left - After that i will consider my options, renew those subs and fight on - Or go fishing again.
I love this game for the most part but the reason I took time off is because it became a second job - That I payed to do and I just burned out.
So far since the beginning of blackout I have logged out stressed more often than not, from seeing “neutrals” on Dscan so often, most of whom turn out to be blue (although I don’t know that when they popup on D).

I’m really leaning toward - No more Eve if this is to be permanent. I in no way consider myself weak willed or any of the other things you said about those leaving. After years of CCP screwing it up, I just don’t think i have the will to deal anymore…

NB; Lets be honest - Local ISN’T delayed (delayed would indicate it will show work after a given time) - LOCAL IS TURNED OFF.,.

Maybe CCP could come up with something not totally OP - Make local “delayed” - Someone enters a system, they don’t show in local for X amount of time. Maybe that time could be the average time it takes to warp from one gate to another in the system, to allow travellers time to get through. Stay longer, you show up in local.,.
This would break most of the intel bots due to them not seeing a hunting party if they keep moving.,. Removing the ability for intel from 10 jumps out

Any ideas as to whats going on with the Local in Null sec? I thought it was supposed to be a black out but i can see every one in local now? i noticed before that the Chat system was bugging out entirely, but after it was rectified it was showing every one in local. Did CCP roll back the Chat servers or whats going on?

I have to agree with this also. Its best to leave account actions and the like to the investigation team and out side of mechanics. Though, If one alliance specifically was being caught repeatedly i would look at giving a warning to its leadership about being disbanded.

That will force the leadership to lose everything, or fix the botting. Its a very strong-arm move, and its highly effective.

There is probably some sort of server-side error that will require a reset to fix it. Be patient with the bug please.

My mistake, written in a rush. I should have wrote heading and not leading.

Eve is heading in a bad direction due to players leaving is what I meant.

You’ve contributed a lot and I respect that too. 15 accounts is a lot and it must take a long while to manage them all, I get stressed enough with 2 accounts LOL. Perhaps your issue could be that you’ve worked very hard in Eve for a long time and you’re just tired?

Fair enough, I hear you and I wouldn’t refer to you as weak.

### Idle thoughts

To CCP Falcon –

There are two central aspects to the “Blackout”, “Drifters”, “Triglavians”, etc., that I’d like to comment on.

The first is that by CCP throwing so many wrenches in the mix, i.e., mass NPC attacks on structures, Triglavian Invasions / Footholds, etc., all these grand, scripted events that are changing the markets, shaking up Alliances and power blocs, you’re greatly taking away from the central, vital **Sandbox** element of EVE Online, where it has always been the _Players_ who build, transform and steer the course of great things across New Eden.

Clearly, no _player_ caused the Triglavian, Drifter, etc., menace to appear… much less the _Blackout_, and with CCP’s comments about a coming “ **Age of Chaos** ” hinting at a ton more Developer-induced changes and events soon arriving in the game, players are being forced into a reactive / response mode, where they are waiting to see what comes next so they can position themselves to minimize loss.

Just as an example, I’m still expecting the Drifters to re-appear, renew their assault and start bashing Structures across New Eden, since that whole thing was supposed to continuously escalate… yet mysteriously evaporated almost as soon as it began. I was jumping Dreadnoughts all over while it was underway, killing Drifters and saving Structures from being reinforced. From this **one new added element** alone, my reaction and outlook in game shifted to being very much **reactive**. You can’t be **proactive** against gangs of NPC Drifters that appear _[literally]_ out of nowhere, attack Structures, skitter around at 3,000 m/s with 150 km Points and put out the combat DPS of a small Fleet. All you can do is grit your teeth, endure, and fight back as best you can.

From the start, EVE’s strongest and most appealing element has always been that it is a **Player-Driven Sandbox**. To be honest, I fear that the further you move us all away from that – and the more universe-shaking, intrusive, scripted events we all have to confront while just trying to do our thing in game and have fun, the greater risk you run of EVE becoming a very different kind of experience… an experience which seems poised to discard the core element that made EVE Online unique, and which has given it such longevity.

Secondly, I would like to refer to your recent statement in the [CCP Blackout Interview](https://www.talkinginstations.com/2019/07/ccp-blackout-interview/):

_"EVE, if up to me, would be a very harsh, dark,_
_dystopian place where bad stuff happens._
_EVE should be an absolute hellscape of terribleness."_
**– CCP Falcon**

While I respect your right to have a personal opinion, to be frank, I’m not entirely sure if CCP should adopt your vision above or choose to pursue the far more positive one currently being espoused by would-be competitors, such as the game “Star Citizen”… especially since the Company behind that game has already raised **$231,091,756 USD** _(so far)_ for its Development on the strength of their _[much more positive]_ central message… and has over **2,353,233 Players** lined up to participate… **all without even a game to play.**

Did you ever pause to consider who would **want** to play in an _“absolute hellscape of terribleness”_, much less to **pay a monthly fee** for the privilege of doing so?

I.e., _what slice of the overall player demographic_ consists of **masochists** of this stripe?

Adopting such a position seems unlikely to bring new players stampeding to join the game… which, logically, should be the **foremost intent** behind any changes that the Development Team make to EVE.

Anyway, that’s my two cents in terms of Feedback, as requested.

Carry on and have a great weekend!

– Corvar
