You seem top miss the point that the gates were what provided the intel that was there original purposes to monitor traffic, it is not being omnipotent it is technology of the future and learning how to use it is the key and it helped both ways hunters could gather prime info on a area ever before striking a killing blow like hey look all those ships mining a particular system ohhh Rorquals time to strike once relayed to your allies.

When you are going through a gate and turned into that beam of light and woosh that data gets processed then relayed,

They don’t stay aligned, they don’t pay attention to or report intel, they dont fleet up, and they don’t get on comms. Which I think will either change, or TSOE will lose their system buffer for that pocket they still manufacture supers in.

I had the misfortune to be in an incursion fleet and this person from Providence was there. They’d been in three or four corporations over the span of 18 month. They didn’t know what the broadcast window was, they didn’t know about the watchlist. That speaks to me that not only are some of the rank and file quite green, but also their corporate leaders aren’t investing time into training their members to be better at what’s an essential part of fleet work.

I could be wrong, maybe that dudes junk finally dropped and he’s calling for round-the-clock ramp-up of intel and PvP response. Dunno cause I left Provi a VERY very _very_ long time ago

The sovereignty map of Providence looks like south america and its probably half as safe.

Why does this make me think of those Rust videos where this British guy invite people into his restaurant, locks them in and barbecues them because they can’t leave?

Myopic how? You are comparing what you click on to select a target vs. a free intel system that cannot be countered. I don’t care how I select a target, if I have to click in space great, if I have to aim a targeting antenna at an object in space, get a good enough signal to lock and then do something else to lock it, also good with that. What I object to is free intel that cannot be countered, for me or for anyone else.

So now saying ‘getting rid of safety is good’ is being scared of it? Are you _scared_ of local in nullsec?

Sounds like someone doesn’t like being the hunted.

Without changes to the overview, intel bots will just sit on gates, screen read that information and some areas are back to square one.

DING.

And it’s not even _fear_. It’s _feasibility_. If you’re a large group, and you get your big stuff wiped out, you’ve got that much farther you have to rebuild in order to be competitive again. At this point, losing your superfleet could be a complete deathblow to some groups. And let’s face it: it’s just not worth it. More on that soon in longer form, though. 😉

I’m not disagreeing with that.
Like I said, logically, the owner of a gate would know who has passed through it.
I just think that capability should be counterable in some way, like entosis on the gate, some sort of destructions, etc. And if a ship enters a system not via a gate, then they should not show in local.
In fact, I think it should be the option of the gate owner to “publish” that info in local for everyone to see, or keep it for only their members to see. That makes way more sense to me, even though it would clearly be a disadvantage to an attacker using gates.

Because they are cautious, use scouts, etc. It takes skills and effort to operate in that environment.
There is tons of danger involved ALL the time. I have ratted in w-space with entire gangs sitting in the site with me cloaked up, just waiting to pick their moment to explode me. In fact, if you are smart you operate on the assumption that there is always a cloaky waiting to kill you.
And if you get careless, they do kill you.

Well again it is your wish that it was not as it is, I think SOV should play a greater part in it if you control the gate how about the ability to shut them off and on prevent any traffic except for certain times imagine not even being able to roam in PVP getting a message you cant jump because you are not recognized . Allot of what you are trying to convey seems to be what you whim and many a PVP player might want. unfortunate as things were with local as it was people could still enter anyone’s territory any time through them and now people want a permanent fall to the intended system, it wont bode well over all and that is my honest thought if ever made permanent the quarry you seek will become less and less, with local going down you are forcing people to get even more organized dropping the success rate you hope for.

Imagines them just shutting it off and then youor your group being trapped, and slaughtered unless you Cyno a group in then watch the things explode litterally.

I think what would happen is those who can’t deal with it would leave and those who are willing to do what it takes would get space in null.

How long would it take you to replace your 2 or 3 titans (if you lost them all) and those supers you have tucked away?

At a rough guess, unless it was Eve VS Your alliance, you’d never be in that situation.
IF it was EVE VS GOONS, wouldn’t it be amazing to see just how well that amazing Super Umbrella would stand up to a full onslaught?
Last time pretty much everything (Supers) got evacuated and were never really put to the test.

Is it time yet for Goons to man up and show us all they aren’t just all talk?
Your mainly AFK leader has been promising it for years, I’m 60 now and would really like to see it put to the test before I join my comrades in EVE Heaven.,.
NB; 15 years so far and still waiting, I don’t think i have another 15 left.

The null gates aren’t owned by the alliance that holds sov. They are joint owned by CONCORD and the empire that built them. If I recall my lore correctly the gates also hold the comms arrays that host local which is why wormholes don’t have the same local. Cause they have comm bouys that were hastily dropped in them.

Goons are all just talk.
This game isn’t about fun and fights for them, its about ISK, control, and providing a safe haven for carebears. It works for them. They aren’t playing the same game as you, and they will freely admit that.

To me, seeing someone pop up on local is as powerful a tool as being notified when someone on your watchlist logs on.

Watchlists being removed was applauded by the people being watched and decryed by the ones using them for free intel, well now the shoe is firmly on the other foot and you’re the ones losing your free intel tool.

Suck it up Buttercup
