well yes, i feel like i have to make very easy to understand examples, i wouldnt have to if he could accept what i say, instead of mixing it up with his own projection ---

Except your apples/watermelons analogy makes no sense given the context of the discussion. You got called out for popping Ventures with a Loki. You responded with a slew of solo kills that aren’t popping Ventures with a Loki. Looks like a flex. Sounds like a flex. Has all the hallmarks and features of a flex. You want to call it an apple? Ok, fine, it’s a Pomegranate. For the record, popping Ventures in lowsec is all fine and dandy imho. I tend to use a Dramiel for the task, but whatever floats your boat. ---

However, killboard shaming on the forums is utterly pointless _most_ of the time. Many folk, myself included, tend to post on an alt with little killboard activity. I’m only posting on my main because I forgot to switch to said alt 😊 ---

The real surge in kills and activity for me has only really come in the past few months, as other chars rapidly catch up with Altara in terms of SP and skills. In fact give it another 6 months and it will be hard to define who my ‘main’ actually is any more. ---

@Sarah_Olson wasn’t intended to be my main. I decided I wasn’t going to play much on my original main until he had 5’d every skill related to every sub-cap ship in the game, including all support skills. Over time, I added all science and industry skills to the plan. Over ten years later, he is still training and not “Ready” yet. Sarah was just meant to be an alt to play on in the meantime but has for over a decade been effectively my main. Maybe one day, my “true” main will be finished and ready for play… ---

Recruiters are there, in part, to determine if an applicant will fit in with their organizations culture. You can trust their decision, it probably saved months of training and acclimatization that wouldn’t work out in the long run because it wasn’t a good fit. How are things going otherwise? ---

I’m not sure if you’re still looking, but I just got back into eve recently myself. Been playing since 2009. I’m a little behind on additions from the last couple years but I did a mix of pvp and pve. If you need help with missions, lowsec, FW, or especially low class w-space/jspace I can help you out. Can also introduce you to the criminal side if that interests you. ---

It’s been a while, but I thought I’d give an update. Shortly after my decline from KarmaFleet, I was accepted into a smaller corp affiliated with Brave, and have been having a blast ever since. Playing with an active corp and making friends through there has been tons of fun. Also I made the move to Null sec, which feels like everything I’ve been doing prior (Security missions, etc.) has just been training wheels for the real game I’m playing now. I guess bitching about the game paid off! hahaha. Thanks all for your help. Hope to see you out there. o/ ---

Well done! Since you now have a solid corp and friends i will offer two points. First, remember how much of a difference having friends makes. And if this group doesn’t work out don’t quit, find other friends. The second tip is to immediately erase any ideas you might have about ship “power level.” You dont need or want to be in a hurry to fly bigger ships. Instead focus on mastering the things that require no skill points at all. Learn how to Dscan, how to probe, how to manually fly, how to always know where your exit is. Make bookmarks, lots of bookmarks, and use them. Good hunting and good luck! ---

Glad you found a home. Hopefully I’ll run into you and one of us can blow the other up haha. Also the revenge list idea is still a good idea if you get bored. Not because its worth getting angry or anything, but anything that gives you a goal to work towards is a good idea. Eve is all about personal goals, so don’t be afraid to just decide you want to do something that might take months or even a year to do. That’s part of the fun. Except for Titans. Don’t try to fly those. It’s not worth it. ---

EVE really reward knowing you opponents strengths and weakness, knowledge best earned from flying and meeting each ship class/variation/tactic over and over. The second reason it’s important is finding a way to fly that fits your style; drones, missiles, lasers etc. Eventually you’ll try and master them all, but while learning what suits you, remember that having fun is the best skill booster. ---
