Currently, the major empire factions, them being Amarr, Minmatar, Caldari, and Gallente, all have their own hauling ships.

However, some factions hauling ships arent that good compared to others.

For example, Gallente has 4 or 5 different hauling ships. One for ore, one for minerals, one for anything, others for idk
The other empires only have two, and i dont think any of them are specialized like Gallentes.

Spending alot of skill points for haulers of different factions.

Would be nicer if all haulers were in another npc faction such as ORE, so instead of each faction having their own haulers, and training 4 different factions hauling ships, all the hauling ships were part of a single faction.

Like how, instead of each of the four major empires having their own mining ships, all the mining ships are under a different npc faction, called ORE.

I am asking for something similar for hauling ships.

Instead of each major empire faction having its own hauling ship line, resulting in 4 different lines of haulers, all the hauling ships should be part of one npc faction, like how all the mining ships are OREs and only OREs.

All mining ships in one npc faction (ORE) instead of four.
All haulers in one npc faction instead of four. (Amarr, Minmatar, Caldari, Gallente)

1. Before September 2013: Standard industrials were racial. Caldari had the Badger, Amarr had the Bestower, Minmatar had the Mammoth, and Gallente had the Iteron series.
2. Odyssey 1.1 (September 2013): FC rebalanced the industrials, giving each race distinct hauling roles. The Iteron variants were renamed the Nereus, Kryos, Epithal, and Miasmos, with specialized roles for some of them.

Instead of removing the 4 iterons, FC made them specialized, and minmatar has a specialized one as well.

EVE is built around specialization and long-term character progression. Wanting to haul planetary commodities, minerals, ore, and general cargo efficiently means making choices about skills and ships. That’s not automatically bad design.

You’re still an alpha clone right? Is that why you want to change it? That doesnt mean it would still be accessible to you

I don’t think moving all haulers under ORE is necessarily the right solution here.

The reason ORE has its own mining ships is that they’re specialized industrial vessels built around mining and resource extraction. Hauling is a much broader role, and it makes sense that the four empires would each have their own industrial designs.

The bigger issue seems to be the imbalance in the number of useful hulls and their specialization between the empires, rather than the fact that they belong to different factions.

Gallente already has a variety of specialized industrials, while the other empires have fewer options. Instead of removing racial haulers entirely, why not give the other empires more meaningful industrial specializations?

And if the primary concern is skill-point investment, moving the ships to ORE wouldn’t automatically solve that unless the skill requirements were redesigned as well.

I’d rather see the existing racial industrial lines improved and balanced than have all hauling ships consolidated under one NPC faction.

It’s varrra again, and with yet another suggestion to dumb down the game!

What a surprise.

No.

Tayra is the bulk hauler, not Badger. Badger is the same class as Sigil, Wreathe, Nereus.

Yeah, no. I do not want to fly sub-par, bad ships that have no role to fill in hauling.

there are currently multiple different hauling ships from multiple different factions that all do the same thing. thats a waste of skill points and space.

if they all do the exact same thing, just simplify all the hauling ships, of which there are like 20 or something, down to 4 or 5.

We dont need 20 different hauling ships when they all do the exact same thing, and the only difference is how they look.

Just simplify it to 4 or 5 hauling ships, and put it under a different npc faction for hauling, and keep the major empire faction ships focused on stuff that their empire focuses on, like hybrid turrets for gallente, missiles for caldari, etc.

We also have dozens of ships that ‘kill stuff’, spread across many factions.

Removing all that variety to a single ‘killing ship’ also saves you a lot of SP.

It also makes the game so much worse and less varied.

This is yet another idea to dumb the game down so it’s ‘simpler for varrra’ at the cost of gameplay many others find fun.

If you don’t like a particular ship, don’t skill for it, don’t buy it, don’t use it. Problem solved.

Some people like the looks, like to stick to their faction for roleplay reasons or they are just a lot cheaper where they live. Or they happen to own the BPO and can produce them. Others simply like a certain aspect, like being able to shield-tank. Or armor-tank. Or getting a certain aligntime out of them.

Stop trying to make the game dull.

As has been suggested - they can just add specialized ORE/Consortium hulls instead.
