Greetings, test server enjoyers! We are planning a masstest on Singularity on **02 October,** from **1700 to 19:00 UTC** **What exactly is being tested?** _In short:_ We’ve made a few changes that ultimately reduce CPU load by optimising the frequency of graphical animations based on the camera distances. Visuals should remain the same, and gameplay remains unaffected; it should simply feel smoother. _ **For those wanting the full technical process:** _ We’ve added a throttler to all controllers on assets which changes the update frequency of the controller based on the distance from the camera. When the asset is close to the camera, its controllers update more frequently (at a maximum of 20 frames per second). When the asset is far from the camera, its controllers update less frequently (at a minimum of 2 frames per second). This should eliminate unnecessary CPU load from overly frequent updates on asset controllers. **How to connect to Singularity for this test:** - Change the server from Tranquility to Singularity in the top right corner of the launcher and log in as normal. - More detailed instructions are available [here.](https://support.eveonline.com/hc/en-us/articles/13171882385820-Test-Servers-Singularity-and-Others) **Test Instructions:** - Join the in-game channel **masstesting**. Read the MOTD to familiarise yourself with the mass test instructions - Join the massquestions channel to ask questions before and during the mass test. - Move yourself to FD-MLJ (type **/moveme** in any chat window and then select FD-MLJ the list) - Prepare 2 different ship fittings for the mass test within the FD-MLJ - MASSTEST keepstar - Be boarded in your mining fit and ready to begin at 17:00 starting in FD-MLJ. Instructions will be relayed via the **masstesting** channel. **What else should I know?** - Look closely at visual effects tied to gameplay, ship behaviors, module activations, telegraphing VFX, and so on. If you notice any delays or issues, please report it via a bug report (F12) or here on the forums! Singularity will be open from 16:30 UTC on the day of the test. ---
