I seem confused? I think you are confused… there have been many changes in the game… more ships types introduced, more players, more ships require more minerals hence, resulting in bigger demand… the few people who will mine those crums in the asteroid belt won’t provide enough like they did when you only had 3 ships classes… i hope it answers your questions

Because moon ores and goo are to be added to BPO construction requirements sometime soon.

This was stated by CCP.

I haven’t said exactly the same. Please quote.

You don’t need to adapt if things are exactly rhe same. So no, exactly the same hasn’t been written.

There you go, 15 years prior to moon mining being active we had anomalies with 66% more minerals. So ya in your historical context mining was fine, except mining is being across the board nerfed in every area. You can’t view this moon change and ignore previous nerfs to make it seem like nothing has changed.

Additionally I have had half a dozen people try to open your links and the all of them lead to the same thing, so we have found 2 buffs to mining in the time frame you said they have only received buffs. On the other hand I found 8 nerfs in that same time frame so it must not have been only buffs.

Mineral supply was fine.

To quote again:

Veldspar is a mineral. It’s supply will be fine, even with these nerfs. Always was and that won’t change.

So mining was fine before and it will be fine now, but thats not the same in your world?

Still waiting on your proof of all these massive buffs mining has received as well, but I doubt you will be able to provide them since you had to paste the same link 8 times to make it look like there was more.

> [@Scipio\_Artelius](#):

Veldspar is an ore actually but thats not the point, the point is if there is significantly less ore available, then there won’t be enough to make ships for a large player base. CCP has removed a large portion of Ore from nullsec and has now removed all Ore from moons. This can’t be compared to before the moon change because things are not the same as they were before moon mining was changed.

Adapt to massively priced T1 frigates? That seems really good for the game, I am sure new players will love having to run missions for weeks to buy a cruiser. Can’t wait for the advertisement “Join now, get your first frigate in just a week of grinding”

Except again, you are ignoring historical reality. That has never been the case. Before the last 3 years of buffs and flood of mineral sources, T1 ships (all ships) were affordable.

Why is that suddently now, just with this change, not going to be the case. Any evidence you can support with (ie. any historical data to show any precedent for the doomsday prediction)?

So do those 3 years of nerfs just not count? It hasn’t been 3 years of buffs, you can barely show any buffs happening to mining. We are in an unprecedented situation as ore availability hasn’t been this in eve since the early 2000s.

Can’t show buffs? They are posted above. How long have you been playing the game?

The current nerfs have only followed massive buffs that went too far. CCP are trying to real those back in to a healthy position.

Actually, in regards to null, this was not the case.

In the past, previous to the Rorquals, Lifeblood, and other changes, a huge amount of minerals were hauled into null sec, in the form of 425mm guns to be reprocessed. Later it moved to compressable ore. There wasn’t no significant ability for null sec mining to supply general T1 needs in the past.

Most industrial work was focused on importing materials to be reprocessed in null and then built into what was need. To that point, I do not believe it is accurate to say that “mining was fine before”, especially in null sec.

It can be argued that the availability of local ore in null sec has swung to far, but I don’t think you can make the case that “mining was fine before”.

We are entering a changing time in terms of mining and resource acquisition.

Personally, think we will see a return to the mass importation of compressed ore from high sec into null and no significant reduction in the building of capital and super capital ships. Mining in high sec is fairly easy, and in relative safety compared to null & low sec mining.

I have been playing this game its entire life. The links you showed above all go to one link so they are only one buff and none I would consider on the level of the 66% removal of ore from anomalies… There is a corresponding nerf in each time frame as well. The overall mining after this change is going to be in the 2005-2006 era of ore availability.

Yeah that’s the age of your character (2004), but your memory of changes seems to be missing a heap of knowledge.

People take lots of breaks (I’ve taken a couple myself), hence the question.

For example, you seem to think mineral supply has only been nerfed, so it appears you might not have been around during the capital/rorqual/orca buffs, the changes to moon mining, etc. Those were massive buffs to resource gathering.

The other improvements such as the mining ledger and drones, etc., there have been a lot of buffs in recent times.

If you’ve played constantly since 2004, it’s hard to reconcile that you think this change is going to make veldspar unavailable. We’ve seen all this before and the doomsday scenarios never play out.

I never said mining was fine before, that was me quoting someone else.

I am fully aware of the previous ways industry was accomplished in the past. We had compressed guns, after that we had gun mining in the form of drones and then we had mining in null. The issue is now null has basically no mining left (wonder where PVPers will find targets now) and gun mining has also been removed. This is on top of repeated nerfs to the ability of players to mine means highsec will not have the resources to produce this.

Do not forget that before the nerf to reprocessing most minerals in high sec actually came from reprocessed mission loot. This massive mineral faucet is now completely gone and was replaced by the mining that is now being removed.

I do not know where people think all these minerals will come from because historically they did not come from highsec mining, but people keep acting like this isn’t that large of a change.

For every buff there has also been a nerf, which is why I took issue with your statement of there has been nothing but buffs to mining. Additionally please see my reply to Dunk to fill in your missing memory as well. Historically the minerals did not come from mining but came from loot reprocessing. This was removed and mining was buffed in its place. These changes along with previous nerfs will take mining levels to what we had during the time of loot reprocessing.
