While your comment as well as your killboard is an eviidence that you have not the faintest idea of current cap mechanics, lol. Ever thought of shutting up before making idiotic remarks? It takes about uh, 0 brain and 0 skill to kill a cap with a afleet that takes waaay less pain to build and even super at the moment are absolutely useless again most subcap fleets.

I would suggest that’s what hi-sec was. A sectioned off part of the game meant to be relatively secure to learn and grow in. Hi-Sec gate camps do not strike me as achieving this. I think I’m beginning to understand CCP’s reluctance to mitigate any of the current hi-sec risks. Again it’s the market. Market over anything else. If Hi-Sec were more secure, the amount of goods that could be moved through hi-sec to Jita to trade would be unimpeded. There would be no risk to value or volume. I’m not fully versed on the means by which current mega-corps move their exports through hi-sec but I imagine other mega-corps are gating their ability to do it in significant quantities at once under the current paradigm. If this is indeed the case, to me the solution is to limit the trade opportunities in hi-sec. Shift the more profitable market items into low/null sec. T2/T3, Ore trading, faction items, etc. Move both value and volume market opportunities out of hi-sec. Then mega-corps would theoretically operate primarily where their play style is suited and in order to access that more lucrative content, us carebears would have to put on our big boy pants and eventually leave hi-sec either having learned to survive or learning in the deep end. Leave hi-sec markets to primarily alpha accessible content with the exception of Ore which would need either value or volume limitations and you should be pleasing both the deeper content players who continue to operate lucrative markets at greater risk since the market hubs are less secure, and the newbros who need to learn the mechanics and nuances without getting ganked every damned time they are mining something. By the time they move to low/null/wh, they understand the risk and can’t complain about their losses.

Edit: This would actually encourage some of the mega-corps to be less sociopathic murdering a-holes. It would operate more like a true market economy because if they want to sell any of their product, they are going to have to establish some security at the market hubs since CCP won’t be providing it. Instead of fleets of dock camps/gate camps blobbing the market exits, the megacorps would have to defend their markets enough to make sales possible in the first place. This encourages mega-corps to fight other mega-corps for something other than “just because we’re bored”. Plus it decentralizes the market from a single mega-hub to “whatever the safest hub is with the most desirable items at the best cost.”

Congratulations ! Hi-sec is already ‘relatively secure’ compared to the rest of Eve, so your wish is granted !

Which is great… if you’ve been playing for years. I haven’t, and CCP permits things that make my ability to pay for ships harder and harder on a regular basis. They’re adjusting mining, which is what my original income was going to come from. They allow cloaks that don’t require any fuel to run, so campers stay in systems for weeks to months (because they can buy 35 accounts, play on 2, and camp with 33).

I agree with the stop with the stick. Quit adjusting systems that are less important. Fix cloaks…then worry about ores and things of that nature when some of the other ways of making isk are more accessible.

> Fix cloaks…then

Cloaks aren’t broken. Learn to bait. Or just use cheap barges and ignore them while watching for a local spike. Think what barge strip miner range when boosted is. And how spread out you can be to avoid a massive sudden bomb run.

And relatively to the old days mining is still insanely lucrative.
Given the way moons work removing the regular ore is a buff to any high end moon, since it pulls a certain m3 per hour/day it is set to run for. And the moon composition affects the ratio of that pull. So if your moon was being diluted by 50% akanor for example and it’s an r64… you just got an incredible buff.
Yea they are also removing the regular minerals but eh, this actually gives you more of the valuable goo. Clearly CCP feel T2 prices were getting too high compared to T1.
This sort of economic thing is at the heart of EVE and is almost always the most important thing. baring boot ini bugs.

> CCP I’m tired, I just wanted a cool nice little place to mine a bit on my evening after work

Yes, I totally 1000% agree with that sentence. Many of us come home from real life work, and want to switch off and relax even if it’s just staring at an asteroid belt or moon goo. We don’t always have time to do missions, and maybe we’re not in the mood for transporting goods/loot across EVE. CCP are welcome to increase the mineral output of ordinary asteroids… but I don’t see that happening any time soon.

Various factions on this forum are saying they’ve all been nerfed at some point, but miners used to have access to inexhaustible (Hi-Sec) ice belts… that got changed, in my humble opinion for the worst, as you’ve only to see competing corporations descending on the ice asteroids like a plague of locusts.

We used to have a wide variety of bonuses on the various mining barges & exhumers those were taken away from us. There’s not a whole lot of difference between them now. CCP should have introduced the new mineral changes _AND_the new ‘future’ blueprints at the same time as it would have avoided a whole lot of useless speculation. It seems to me we’re being asked to mine and stockpile minerals from Moon Goo without knowing what their (future) value is going to be. “Let the buyer beware… would you purchase a second-hand car from CCP ?”

The economy affects the whole game. The amount of mining we’ve been doing over the past half decade is breaking the game for everyone. So they are dealing with what’s most important.

Afk cloaking on the other hand isn’t even a bad thing, it’s the only thing keeping null ratting in check.

I know it’s hard to see outside your selfish little bubble, but if we ‘fixed’ afk cloaking we’d just be swapping an oversupply of minerals for an over supply of isk.

Maybe you shouldn’t be in null if afk cloakers stop you from playing.

so you are talking about the bigger picture, but what is it? why is the current situation so bad?
from what i can tell its going to be extremely hard to produce ships after this change, meaning ores or mins will have to come from null sec. this will make null sec more alliances moire rich and make ships more expensive for new players and solo players.

am i wrong to think this will benefit big alliances in null more then anything else?
