It has some nice moments though (like the dwarf family moments) and the visuals are generally spectacular (except for the mutant chihuahua or the mutant horse eye and such). 🙂 Am not a LotR lore nerd so the lore-breaking stuff I didn’t even recognize but even without that knowledge the acting mostly and some illogical stuff (like Galadriel was supposed to swim through an entire ocean home lol) poison this production despite it is a high budget thing and could be avoided by hiring better writers. The real sad thing is the wasted potential because inevitable you will think: with that budget and proper talent this could be so much more and better, what a waste. ---

I do not keep up with entertainment news, but I guess Ramona was talking about some other piece of media based on Tolkien lore that would reinforce my view that ignoring entertainment news is justified on the basis that the people who create it are creatively bankrupt and I would be better off watching the old media to begin with? ---

Im just stunned by how much of the woke/antiwoke advertising for the show Facebook shovelled at me this morning. I really couldnt care less about a shallow spin off that doesnt even have the music from the movies in it. Also Stormbringer \> Narsil ---

It is the new TV / streamer series called Rings of Power. Not as bad as The Hobbit but not as good as LotR and even LotR was not as good as it could be. Imo. ---

Doing something creative, and therefore different from the status quo, has always been offensive to some. It just happens to be that today it’s trendy to be offended by things without doing anything meaningful that would require effort. ---

That doesnt mean anyone who doesnt hate Jews isnt allowed to say when something is written badly. However, all I said was these days everything is written by committee, which when it comes to TV is for the most part true, there is a writers room where episodes are brainstormed as a team ---

I guess it was cost, though I wouldnt begrudge Enya a few quid. ---

Yup thats where I first heard of him. Loved the fusion score he did, and the Watchtower cover. Now THAT is how you do a reboot of an old series. Hell Kara Thrace and Boomer is even how you do gender-swapping and ethnicity switching properly without tears, More people had tears over the ending, which, I get why people didnt like it but I thought was perfect. ---

I didn’t quite understand the ending. But I did like the mother/father dynamic between president Roslin and admiral Adama. It was sad that she died. ---
