Sorry, this is nonsense. AFK cloaking is the epitome of low effort, low interaction and low attention. You are just trying to eat your cake and have it too. But nice try.

Exactly high prices are neither good not bad. So writing that they are some how good is nonsense on stilts, glad you’ll get off those stilts.

What you are doing _is_ roleplaying. 😛

But by all means keep blowing up stuff in HS.

Great lets log everyone off without any input from their keyboard or mouse after 5 minutes. Even people in station. 🙄

Maybe you should go check out Eve Offline then.

It’s not roleplay if you sincerely believe James is the Saviour of High Sec, and you also believe that he was permabanned for the sins of the miners, but he arose in Halaima and ascended to Hek, and you further accept the mysterious Trinity of James 315, Currin Trading, and the New Halaima CODE of Conduct.

It’s only roleplay if you don’t actually believe this, but everyone in CODE. does.

And afk mining or ratting isn’t?

To use your own argument:
What does an afk cloaker gain whilst afk?

Like i said. Depends what your goal is.

Keep in mind that in the real world, the vast majority of people are buyers and very few are sellers. You could argue i sell my time, but that doesn’t follow the same pricing rules.

In eve however it’s very different. We are all a mix of self-employed sellers and buyers.

People always come with awesome expressions of “Make it more fun” then give examples like “Introduce Captches”… do you see the issue here, arethere any games where revies say “Awesome game, 5/5 the captchas are very immersive and interesting, definately reccomend!”

If players had to fight the environment to mine, it would be much more engaging and (IMO) more fun: [Mining Overhaul: Actively Engaging](https://forums.eveonline.com/t/mining-overhaul-actively-engaging/188503)

I have since rethought some of my original ideas. I think moon asteroids should orbit around the center of the field and randomly emit AOE damage.

People shooting mining drones who go suspect rather than criminal can provoke a fight. The bar of entry is low, and the entrant could be conceivably in striking distance of the miners’ defenses, if they think to fit a point and use it before the instigator can pull a bait and switch.

I like this idea.

Players should be able to do more annoying things against eachother in HiSec that result in suspect flags rather than criminal flags.

I used to enjoy playing Clue. You would go around hunting clues, and then you would try to catch a suspect! We could do something like that in EVE. Every 24 hours, every player should get a free universal killright. You need merely click on another ship, and that ship will immediately start flashing yellow. This will generate more engaging content.

CCP’s goal is a healthy economy and as such it is prices that reflect underlying market conditions and ■■■■ your feelilngs/wants/desires in game. ■■■■ them to death.

Okay…but then lower prices is better.

Holy mother ■■■■…

Are we? Do people who run missions or rat in NS sell much or do they just generate ISK? What about incursion runners?

The point is prices should reflect underlying market conditions. Trying to jack up one price or another is idiotic ■■■■■■■■ I expect from moronic socialist who wanders around muttering into his drool cup.

LP stores, loot, officer/dead space items.

Yeah they all sell stuff or have access to stuff they can sell.

the fallacy in that is that bot programs move the mouse to click and input key commands

It’s a double edged sword…if you make mining more “interesting” by adding interactive mini-games and such then you also making it easier for miners to get ganked because they are distracted; and unlike exploration you’re in a ship that can’t escape as well as most exploration fits. This will in turn just cause more people to quit and furthering the decline of subs.

I wish CCP would create 10 man sub-cap and 40 man restricted cap per side instanced PvP matchmaking so players can go and have real fights against other players whenever they feel like it. Create a ladder/ranking/reward system so that their is an actual in-game reward for PvP.

TLDR; If this game is supposed to be PvP based why aren’t their more and easier ways to get to it? Rather than play “Miner Hunter” or “Gate Sitter” the game…and occasionally we bump into real PvP that is almost always one-sided.

Maybe you just don’t understand how the game works? PvP in EvE is always one-sided. If it isn’t, both sides screwed up. Also the biggest part of PvP isn’t the combat, the outcome is most likely already decided before the fighting starts.

Nope.
I don’t mean to be pedantic here, but no.

Words do not have any intrinsic meaning, they have usages. I recall that when I was in grade school, it was quite popular to refer to something as “bad” if you in fact liked it and found it to be very good.

What Aiko means when he refers to afk mining as a form of botting, is that the two can hardly be differentiated and therefore will be regarded as the same and dispatched with the same anti-matter

That’s gonna be difficult for me, I’m very straightforward in conversation and tend to misunderstand people a lot, especially when communicating via text. Trying to see any deeper meanings to someone’s words just makes the misunderstanding worse. 😓

If you review the New Halaima CODE of Space Law, you will note that botting is an inclusive term which includes any activity which a reasonable agent might construe as bot aspirancy. In a similar fashion, mining is an inclusive term which includes any activity which a reasonable agent might construe as botting.

I have spent a lot of effort on trying to figure out what people mean from what they say, and I can’t say that my success rate is as high as I’d like. I do reasonably well these days, but I am still sympathetic to the difficulty of interpreting people without automatically gaining knowledge of their culture and background. It gets easier, though, if you keep at it.
