Good morning to everyone! Well, it was at the time that I wrote this at least, but that is besides the point.
I’m Nyx 0, yet another candidate from the swirling masses of Nullsec, and the owner of multiple questionable opinions that I plan to share in this here thread.

## **My story in this wonderful game is a short one,**

Beginning in the recent year of 2024 when I was enticed by the prospect of as many spreadsheets as I could eat. I found my way into Nullsec, first with Brave and then my current home in The Initiative, where I proceeded to absorb isk from all available pockets to fuel an endless desire to make the red line go up.

Whilst I do undock on rare occasions, my primary expertise is with the economy of Eve. Markets have been my home for these past two years, a lens through which I’ve viewed many other aspects of the game and formed rose-tinted assessments thereof. The tools that I’ve built for myself and others in this time have sparked a healthy love of the ESI, as well as a healthy share of frustrations with how certain endpoints operate in practice.

## **So, why am I here?**

You will find that most of the things I feel strongly about are, unsurprisingly, based on the economics or the technical side of Eve. I am not going to be a candidate to talk about ship balance (They seem to tilt to the left slightly?), nor do I particularly care for Nullsec sovereignty and mechanics

I do however, feel strongly about some of the following:

-
### **ISK Faucets and Sinks… Mostly Sinks:**

ISK makes the world go round… However at a certain point, too much of it can start to burn holes in pockets. Since I started playing 2 years ago, the amount of ISK in the game has increased by around 40%. Part of this is always going to be down to the cycle of players coming and going, but it’s a markedly more steep increase than pre 2023.

Big piles of money can, in my opinion, lead to stagnation through security - As backstops get bigger inertia should generally increase, whether this is represented in a group’s ability to absorb losses, an industrialist’s ability to hold a market through brute force, or a trader’s ability to expand their stockpiles when the weather is rough.

Personally I would like to push for more ISK sinks in the game. Particularly for ISK sinks that impact people like myself. Market taxes are easily skirted through direct sales, which are facilitated easier than ever through Discord channels and other social media, and the contract system is too beneficial when it comes to maximising the isk in circulation. I should not be processing over 1T of contracts in a month without even a million isk leaving my wallet!

Systems that provide an inherent safety, such as contracts, should come with a price for that safety that is more than 10,000isk. Skirting taxes should require dropping a container in space in the dead of night, a method with some chest hair.

-
### **Continued Work on the ESI:**

The progress on the ESI in the time that I have been around has been, quite frankly, outstanding. It would not be amiss to say that without it, I would not be playing this game still.

With that in mind, I plan to advocate for continued improvements, with a particular interest in what post-processing can be applied to some of the endpoints in order to make them more viable.

As an example, sites like Mokaam, A4E, Coalitions and Fuzzworks all currently pull historical pricing data from the ESI. This is a process that requires one call, per item, per region, per day… A load that adds up exceptionally fast and falls afoul of the rate limit with ease. Perhaps for FC this is a pretty minimal impact, but as someone building tools that require this data it puts a requirement of having a data aggregator in front of the ability to build tools for tracking local market demand and activity.

As part of a Nullsec group that may not be an issue, but for smaller groups it adds a workload that they may not have the capability for. In an ideal world, having that data combined into a single endpoint would open up that ability for smaller groups in weird areas of space to just steal a spreadsheet, plug in their region and get it working.

-
### **Cat Ears for Ships:**

Tongue in cheek, perhaps, but let’s be honest… People want cat ears on their ships.

-
### **Assorted Terrible Opinions:**

Whether it’s increased visibility for corporation market orders, structures having some ability to trade off total EHP for some flat damage reduction against an army of frigates, the continuation of tiericide, or ISK generation being nerfed for you (and only you, nobody else), chances are I have an opinion on it. Realistically, most of these will never see the light of day, as I’d rather push for a few things than throw peas at the wall in the hope that one of them sticks. But I have them, and I’m happy to talk about them!

## **A final word, or more**

Whilst I feel that I could bring something to the CSM, I am also not naive enough to believe that my experience is as broad as many of the other candidates standing. I am always more than happy to talk about markets, isk and industry, as I feel that I have enough understanding in that space to present the ideas of both myself and others. If you disagree with my stances, even better! At the end of the day, we are all here because we love and want the best for the game that we play.

Feel free to throw questions, comments, or criticism in my direction - I will do my best to respond honestly, and to be upfront with what I do not know

Hello @Nyx_0, what about this?

> - The connection between EVE Online and EVE Vanguard

Do you have any expectations what that could be, how it could work? I am aware there is nothing tangible yet, but it’s rather inevitable if I red FC correctly.

Nyx has all my votes. Too nice of a person, too passionate of an industrial mogul not to.

What Nyx hasn’t mentioned is that they have single-handedly maybe not revolutionised, but massively contributed to the market and everyday trading of the third largest alliance in the game.

By building and maintaining trading sheets for INITs Fountain market that are accessible to everyone in the alliance, coupled with their own market activity, they have not only noticeably driven down overall INIT market prices, but also made the information needed for (import) trading accessible to everyone in the alliance.

I can look at a google sheet and lazily import items with the best margins, as well as quickly check and fill market gaps and supply items needed for fleet doctrines that are low on stock. Together with having become a veritable trading mogul in their own right, there is a lot of knowledge of as well as engagement with and love for the (market) game demonstrated here.

As a fellow alliance member and someone who has hung out with Nyx IRL, I am biased. But I will definitely throw a vote your way 🙂
