She does not claim to be perfect in all respects, just as her mother’s child, etc. That’s different to claiming to be without fault. Some Amarrians believe that this kind of “spiritual perfection” in their roles is the basis of society: a Holder is a Holder while a farmslave is a farmslave because they are perfect for those roles, as God intended. Just for the record, I don’t want two be saved either. God can eat his divine intentions for dessert for all I care. ---

Emergent property of experience, memories etc. etc. And then someone else claims that’s not what a soul is, but then fails to define what they think it is. ---

If it’s defined that way it’s hard to separate from just the path someone’s traveled, which could be explained pretty well as the development of a mind. _Achura Shuijing_ teaches at the high level (there’s also a more conventional lay version) that the soul is the complete, holistic record of a life-- everything done, every living thing touched as well as every unliving thing: all kindnesses and cruelties, all ripples and influences, literally everything a person has been or done. It’s the complete record of a life. It’s the totality of who a person is in the greater Totality of all things. Even if there are no literal spirits guiding us or judging us, it matters what we do, how we live. We shape the world and are shaped by it. Even if we can’t fully foresee the consequences of our actions, is it not better to try to leave a record of positive influences and feeling than of negative? Even if no one calls us to account, after, the records of our lives remain engraved in time. When your life ends, what will you have been? ---
