Okay, so you have a definition virtual signalling. It’s confusing because you use the provided definition when talking about its definition, but the pejorative when discussing its use. This is a bit of an equivocation fallacy. Also, the definition you’ve provided does nothing to show that one group is putting down another. Well, it’s a tool that’s used to gain political dividends, as per description. Which is what I’ve been saying. Also, I wasn’t claiming a hypocritical arguement, rather than an ad hominem. ---

If you take it as an ad hominem, which I can see how one might take it that way, It’s only fallacious if one is saying that one shouldn’t listen to someone’s claims of virtue signalling _because_ they’re a hypocrite. If your saying that claiming virtue signalling makes someone a hypocrite then that isn’t fallacioius, as unkind as it may be. ---

The reality of capsuleers paying lip service to an idea or promising aid to a cause just because they want to look good is that it happens all the time. If you want to irrevocably squash accusations of this “virtue signalling” malarkey, then _show up_ when you say you will. Problem solved. ---
