This basic system will set you back 1.5m

Whilst this is a fairly nippy vessel, an Alpha character wouldn’t have much in the way of issues fitting this ship up to keep up with the frigates that they will be contending with at lower levels. Whilst the range and DPS is consistent with the crystals being used, bumping them up to (if useable) Faction crystals will give a noticeable increase to the DPS.

The tracking of the beams, whilst admittedly less than that of comparable pulse lasers, is still strong enough to be used in tight combat ranges. Boosting the range with a tracking computer will help, and any ships moving too quickly can be reduced by swapping out the range script for a tracking one.

The armour tanking comes the combination of 400mm plate, a Damage Control unit and an EANM system, which boosts both the armour value and the resistance of that armour intensively. The armour repair module will help replace a certain amount of armour, but will not last you under a strong and focused barrage. If the heat gets too much, use your afterburner to pull away and repair, before coming back in for another push.

Multifrequency S x4

The whole system will set back the capsuleer 4.5m ISK

If you have the liquid ISK to hand, consider changing out the SAR to a SAAR. Combined with Nanite Paste will give a significant boost to your repair (almost double the normal repper), but only for a short time. After this it will take a full minute to rearm the system, giving you the option to punch your way to victory, or to retreat a distance and return to render your enemies into space dust. With a store of 128 vials of nanite paste will give you space for several repair sessions (17 reloads: 8 loaded + 128 spare)

You can also exchange the normal crystals for Faction variants. This will give a significant boost to your DPS, but at the cost of damage to the crystals. They will be good for around 4000 shots before they expire.

Using these upgrades combined is a massive cost increase however - somewhere in the region of 12 million ISK per vessel.

Whichever way you chose to go, the Punisher is a worthy ship for a first time Alpha Pilot of the Amarr Empire

I’ve been flying variations of this fit as an Alpha. Cost is over $5M. It’s tough enough to take on big rats in Low-Sec. I’ve lost a few of them, but they’ve more than paid for themselves.

Tank: 30dps

Dps:
45@30km (Radio)
70@20km (Standard)
107@10km (Multi-Freq)

Can be flown with a couple hours of training (energy grid upgrades L2), costs 1.3mil, tanks Level 1 missions effortlessly, ammo that lasts forever and volleys most targets at 30km.

This one is a very strong mission runner. Having 4 turrets instead of the usual frigates three means you do plenty of damage right out the box. Just stick with radio ammo for most of the time it does plenty of damage to low level rats. Switch to MF for larger targets or structures.

I used this “alpha” fit for the SoE arc and L1 missions.
It’s cap stable, deals 152 dps on an alpha with IN multi (175 with OH), 970 m/s and repping its 26 hp/s.
I used with radio, microwave, multi, and IN multi. But see what ranges and ammo swaps You prefer.
Nothing exceptional, but does the job in low level PvE – as long as the incoming dps is within its limits it can go on forever.
Killed Dagan without much trouble, just managed my speed a bit to help my tracking, but the tank wasn’t a problem (close orbit with Dagan helps a lot). Even the Amarr guy (can’t remember his name) before Dagan wasn’t an issue, his cap-warfare was not enough to cause problems or he just died too fast to make a difference.
L2 missions are probably too much for it.
It can do HS refuge sites, but don’t go for dens!

No discussion of fits suggested and stick to fits Alphas can use, meaning guns are Lasers only

(MrAktilos MrAktilos) #15

Doesnt the Alpha Revamp in 4 days allow them to use any Guns? Or did I missunderstand something there?

(ISD Sakimura) #16

It’s very possible but until the changes have been confirmed, it’s best not to assume anything and stick to how it is now. Once the Alpha changes have been released new fits can be suggested and will be considered and Community Fittings will be updated with up to date fits.

This fit does not work for a Alpha on Pyfa.

Cap is 122.86%
Power Grid is: 128.76%

Did you have rigs in when you fitted this or is there something wrong with my Pyfa

This thing has a massive tank and a lot of resists. As a new bro you simply want to have time to figure out what to do in the mission. This fit is using a plate to help with this issue by giving you more buffer tank and a lot of resists to help with incoming damage.

The tactic here is to burn towards the target with your afterburner on. Orbit to help you get less damage and then use your web to slow them down so you can do maximum damage. Turn off your afterburner so that your ship can be capacitor stable once you have orbit. Your tracking skills are not great so the web really does help.

The ship with everything running except the afterburner and repairer is cap stable at 51.6%. With the afterburner it will last 3 minutes and 50 seconds and when you use your armour repairer on top of that you will have 40 seconds of repairer time.

I would only use my afterburner to get to the enemy and then switch it off. This will allow your capacitor to recharge and then you can use it again to get to the next set of mission ships. This will allow you to use your repairer to help you get more armour. I would wait until your armour is low and use it to gain more armour. Once your capacitor is at 10 - 20% from depletion you stop repairing to then gain back capacitor. We call this pulsing.

If for any reason you see your armour tank is not holding warp out to a station and go repair. Go back into the mission and continue to do this until you can tank the mission.

EHP: 4.85K
Armour: 61.5% - EM / 49.9%- Thermal / 42.2% - Kinetic / 55.2% - Explosive
Speed: 538 m/s
Cap: Stable at 51.6% with no AB running / 3m 50sec with AB / 40sec with AB + repairer turned on
Damage: 35.6 dps
