This would have been a much better change than altering the despawn timer. Anything to change mechanics to risk/reward vs mathematical outcome.

there you go, content for group and fun playing exists already but people keep doing it solo because they want as much ISK as possible from it.
check this:

> I like your idea of a bounty hunting mission though. It makes you actually fly your ship around and engage more than just let lose the auto-targetting missiles/drones. And it could have some hacking to get hints of where to go too!

if you like that how about so of this:

- spotter mission - target paint some cruisers for support BS and keep alive for whole engagement
- escort mission - keep industry fleet safe for a few pocket jumps, by fighting off the pirates, ecm them or rep the fleet
- intel gathering - hack the entrance gate to the deepspace pocket, scan it’s content, steal BPC if aviable by hacking cans
- illegal good scan - cargo scan freighters and industrials docking to one of npc corp facility - point and web one with illegal goods till reinforcements arrives
I can do them all day, problem is I have no idea if CCP can implement that, not all mission need to be about shooting rats.

When I hear about social group content:

- sotiyos - first thing players want to do - solo them,
- FOBs - same thing - solo them,
- RW - guess what? solo?

It is the same thing as waiting for the pvp fleet to form. If I can do pve for 30 minutes I won’t wait for that. I just jump strait to the content.

> [@DeMichael\_Crimson](#):

> Missions are fine, just need to randomize the spawn triggers and beef up the amount of wrecks containing loot drops.

combat sites could use this also. They are pathetic now, just shoot the triggers and warp off with loot.

There was a mention in roundtable that escalation might be sold on the market - great idea imo. I don’t do lowsec escalations anyway, it would be great to sell them.

In the past there’s been a lot of ideas presented to add new missions and exploration sites but CCP keeps ignoring them. I see a lot of people say missions are boring yet those people won’t do anything to change it. Instead they keep saying PvE needs to be more like PvP. That’s a bunch of BS being spouted by PvP players. If PvE players wanted to do PvP, they would join FW or go on low / null sec roams. There’s a ‘Fleet Finder’ already available in game so don’t say they can’t find others to do it.

When I first started playing this game, I stayed in a T1 Combat Frigate for 9 months and max trained every single skill associated with that ship. In the process of doing that I upgraded the fitting and advanced up in Agent levels to where I was solo completing level 3 security missions within the mission bonus time. A friend of mine was doing the same thing with level 4 security missions in a T2 Combat Frigate.

I and other players also did fleet action in small and medium hull class ships on level 4 missions and higher level exploration sites. We did it because it was a challenge that was fun and interesting. It was our choice to do so, we wanted to do PvE content in a fleet, not partake in a large scale fleet op with the premise of being engaged in PvP.

CCP needs to understand that. Players want to enjoy the game and having all their hard work and time be wasted is not fun. It shouldn’t be a second job with endless grinding to make ISK just to buy all the things needed to actually play this game. CCP needs to stop nerfing rewards and loot drops. They need to increase exploration site spawn rates. They need to stop trying to force players to go into low, null and w-hole space. I’m sorry but those who want to do that already do so.

There was a statement made by some CCP employee that Resource Wars intentionally had lousy rewards because new players wouldn’t know what to do with a lot of ISK. I say BS on that. New players have a lot of stuff to buy, skillbooks, implants, ships, equipment, etc.

Ask yourself why do most players remain in high sec space? Why do most players prefer to do PvE content solo?

There are no sticks, just carrots. If you want the carrot you move, but CCP is not whipping you with it. You whip yourself.

If carrots were sticks, as you propose, then the only way for CCP to remove the stick is to remove the carrot. BUT, you also say:

So what you write seems contradictory.

Good news! It doesn’t have to be an endless grind to play in the sandbox! Now, maybe you want lots of sand to accomplish your desires, but that’s on you (not CCP).

Why don’t we just get more epic arcs, please? Those are fun. They have lore. They are pretty hard for a noob and provide an excellent excuse for team play.

It can start with some object you get from a relic site that you take to an npc to get analyzed. It can reward enough, considering you can only do them periodically with each character.

Nope it is not, in fact it is your fault and all of dullsec’s fault. YOU and your dullsec buddies created this mess with your council of goons for goonsec “concerns”.

Yes nerf level 4 mission payout because booh Empire get stuff. Muuh want more.

It is you and your ice cream factories (moon poo) in dullsec that increased the prices for everything to really show us mooh Empire poors can not longer compete with anything and your “join goons now and become daft in the process and don’t report our infinite isk making bot mkay” mentality that brought us here.

You can tell your lawyer, whom likes himself very, very much, that it is not going to work.

You complain about “muuh, no content in dullsec” without seeing that you drove your content out - good job, now deal with it.

@DeMichael_Crimson is spot on when he says that yes we may band together to try out new stuff but in the end it takes longer to wait for everyone to get back from the groceries, shower, gym, parent teacher conference and whatnot then actually go there yourself and do some relaxed shooting red crosses with the excitement that a phone call distracted you and you shot some triggers you shouldn’t have and are about to lose a 2 billion boat, which you cannot afford to lose because you have to rescue the damsel 4000 times to afford the hull of the ship you lost and replacement modules you had on but the loot fairy had a stressful day and didn’t want to be nice at the end of the loot fairies office hours.
So no, you want to relax while you watch your wallet increase in super slow motion and you think to yourself, that in only 3 years you can by a capital, which gets handed out like candy bars in the candy bars promotion week.

Then CCP says, muuh the council of goon members for goonspace online said you get too much, muuh remove 3000% income you cheeky scrub loards and go join goons today mkay?

PvE already started to shift in that direction with mining response fleets and FOB’s. Both are great fun, challenging and yet held within boundries. Those boundaries will never be possible with PvP thus PvE will never become 100% like PvP. I highly endorse this shift and I’m a 100% PvE’er.

> [@DeMichael\_Crimson](#):

Increasing rewards left and right, increasing loot drops and spawn rates will only lead to further devaluation of isk and players demanding to rise them even higher. Thats a never ending circle with results that can be observed by simply looking at the PLEX price - I remember my first PLEX was 350kk. Now it’s over 1,5kkk. There has to be a balance and this balance has to be controlled.

Speaking for myself - because it’s cenvenient, it’s casual friendly and most of all there’s a lot of various content just waiting to be done right when i log in. As for the solo part - some people simply like it solo. Some people don’t need facebook with it’s “friends” , people to take care of every time they log in or just feeling obliged to do stuff in a group.

Why couldn’t there be available, soloable, engaging, advanced AI missions whenever you log in?
Why would having new, more engaging and demanding content require the removal of the old style chill missions for when you want to take it easy? Nobody is saying that the old missions need to disappear. Some of us are saying that there are enough of them and effort for new content should be directed somewhere else though.

There is no contradiction in wanting new PvE to be more engaging and at the same time being a casual player that sometimes only has 30 minutes to play. The new PvE can be designed to take just 30 minutes (of fully dedicated attention, instead of 30 minutes of shooting red crosses and watching youtube at the same tiem),

PvP is neither easily dependable (where can I find people willing to just let me shoot them? Well, except if I were a ganker in HS!), manageable risk (in PvE, you can be mostly sure of surviving, which is nice when you want to chill instead of getting your heart pumping like mad) nor a good isk source (which is I guess the one point where we all agree, PvE must be isk-positive). So that’s why I don’t just PvP.

But I want my PvE to be engaging and entertaining like other games. If you play other video games, do you only play on the lowest difficulty setting, then online vs other players? Maybe you do, but I get my kicks out of trying to play at the highest difficulty levels I can manage, with friends, same as what I liked in other mmos were trying to do the hardest dungeons my friends and I could manage.

In EVE, there used to be only one difficulty level for missions: snorefest. Then there were burners, now FOBs and we are slowly moving towards more engaging/higher difficulty level content, which is what I think the game needs.

What would be the point of more regular missions? They’re essentially all the same, nobody reads the lore except to figure out which hardener to fit, until they figure out that the missions are easy enough to omni tank any ways. Granted, it would take at most a few hours to design them: write a quick blurb, place object in space, setup triggers/waves, all using existing assets, but… that would be just a reskin of old boring missions and I might not even notice that work was done, so I don’t think it is worth doing.

For the record, I think there is a bit of a difference in definitions that makes our different opinions seem further apart than they actually are. Your ideas above of different missions above (spotter/escort/intel/customs) are all great. Maybe you consider them regular missions, but to me, those would be a new type of more engaging content that is quite different. As you say, we don’t even know if CCP can implement them, so they are hardly can be called regular missions. I would be happy to see any/all of those implemented as well. Ideally not mixed with the old missions though, as I would likely want to run these over the old boring ones pretty much all the time.

Yeah, that’s your opinion but the reality is that content is for the most part being ignored by a majority of PvE players. I’m a long time PvE player and I don’t care for the new content and I was never asked by a survey how I feel about it. The reason CCP added that content was due to PvP’ers wanting to create more targets.

That’s just wrong thinking, the price of living has gone up so the rewards need to also go up, definitely for balance reasons.

The main reason most players stay in high sec is because of Concord game mechanics, basically that allows them to enjoy the game in relative safety without being interrupted by PvP enthusiasts. The reason most players engage in content solo is due to the old Eve meme, don’t trust anyone.

… and crashing the loot’s value doing so … don’t think you had that in mind. A drop in EvE has only value if it’s rare enough and in need by other players. Hence reducing drop rates, is usually a positive thing for those who want to make ISK out of it.
