Quite funny how CCP says this and does not use the ingame valuation. 😂 They also realized how utterly bad it is. I wish this realization would transpire to other aspects and ingame activities as well.

For me, this FestPvp brings absolutely nothing except a week of being annoyed by other players. If we want to do something other than fight each other, why put up with it? I’m going to pause the game for the duration of the event. I wonder what kind of idiot came up with this kind of event. Create combat zones in space for those who want to be killed or do the killing

Only 1K PLEX (per area)? That’s some rookie (newbro) number. Even just a regular player like myself puts at risk 4.5 times that to generate content (and killrights) and don’t mind losing it in the process. Is CCP poor or something? 🤔

## What the scoring system _really_ rewards

A kill gives you leaderboard value only if it satisfies **two personal checklists** :

1. **Unique pilot checklist** (global):
You only ever score **once per victim pilot** , period.

2. **Ship type × space type checklist** (per killer):
You only ever score **once per ship type in each area** (HS/LS/NS/WH/Poch).

So to score fast you need:

- A constant stream of **new victim pilots**

- A planned rotation through **ship×space boxes** you haven’t ticked yet

That combination heavily rewards certain social structures.

* * *

## The event encourages “victim-rich organizations”

### 1) Large alliances / coalitions with internal participation

If you have:

- Hundreds/thousands of members

- People who can fly lots of hulls

- SRP, staging, logistics, doctrine stockpiles

…then you can run the event like an internal “league,” where everyone wins except the spirit.

**Why it’s rewarded**

- You can supply:

**Emergent behavior**

- “Corp Fight Night” becomes a **point factory**

- Members rotate through being “victim” and “scorer”

- People with broad hangars/skills become high-value “victim assets” (not opponents)

* * *

## The event encourages “kill cooperatives” and structured collusion

### 2) Duels / arranged 1v1 rings (highsec especially)

Because “solo kill” accepts normal killmail quirks, and duels are easy to structure:

**Behavior**

- A dedicated system becomes an arena

- Victims arrive in a pre-agreed hull

- The scorer kills them “clean” and moves on

**Rewarded traits**

- Social coordination

- Scheduling

- A roster of participants (victims)

- A doctrine list of hulls to cycle through

**What it replaces**

- Hunting becomes inefficient compared to “appointment PvP”

* * *

## The event encourages “logistics-first PvP”

### 3) Space-type routing beats combat skill

Since ship×space is part of the scoring, the optimizer does this:

- Pick a short list of hulls you can reliably kill

- Run them through a **5-region route**

- Each stop: one fresh victim, one new box ticked

**Who is advantaged**

- Groups with:

A solo roamer can be lethal and still lose to a logistician with a clipboard.

* * *

## The event encourages “breadth of hull access,” which favors veterans + organized groups

### 4) Hull breadth becomes a resource

Because your ship×space checklist is finite, staying competitive means steadily expanding hull variety.

So groups will:

- Provide hulls at scale (SRP/hangar programs)

- Tell members: “Bring me **Hull X** in **Space Y** today”

- Use veterans as “flex victims” (able to sit in many hull types)

**This is the specific incentive you called out:**
A large org with lots of pilots who can fly lots of hull classes is _absolutely_ advantaged — not because they’re better at fighting, but because they can **manufacture variety**.

* * *

## The event encourages “alt usage,” but in a specific way

### 5) Alts aren’t “for everything” — they’re for _unique pilots on tap_

Since each victim pilot can only score once, the scarcest input is **fresh identities**.

So the efficient abuse is:

- A pipeline of low-skill disposable victim pilots (shuttles/frigs)

- Combined with a smaller set of skilled pilots used as “hull variety victims” when needed

**This rewards**

- People/orgs willing to devote accounts to being livestock

- Players with time to manage character slots/creation/training logistics

Not infinite, but very “industrial.”

* * *

## The event encourages “grief via victim-denial” (subtle but real)

### 6) Deny a top player’s future opportunities by tagging pilots

Because victim uniqueness is global-per-killer:

If I can get you to “spend” your unique kill on someone _low value to you_, I can reduce your effective pool later.

This shows up as:

- “Baiting” top scorers into killing disposable pilots early

- Forcing them to burn unique pilots on junk before they find valuable/rare targets they’d rather use for points or value-bonus attempts

This isn’t the main meta, but it’s a real second-order incentive:

- **Trick opponents into wasting scarce uniqueness.**

* * *

## The 1,000 PLEX “highest value solo kill” bonus encourages wealthy staged losses

### 7) The bonus rewards capital and choreography

Highest zKill value solo kill per area is tailor-made for:

- A very expensive ship flown by a cooperating “victim”

- A controlled scenario guaranteeing solo attribution

- Minimal risk for the scorer

**Who is advantaged**

- Rich orgs with:

It does not primarily reward “doing the impossible.”
It rewards **engineering the most expensive loss** cleanly.

* * *

## The event discourages the kind of PvP it claims to celebrate

### What’s _not_ rewarded (or is actively punished)

- Prolonged rivalries (repeat kills on same pilots don’t count)

- Fighting outnumbered (risk doesn’t scale reward)

- Taking hard fights (ship value doesn’t scale points)

- Roaming for content (time-inefficient compared to appointment kills)

- Learning/sparring against the same opponents (the natural “arena ladder” loop)

So the event’s dominant behavior isn’t “solo PvP excellence,” it’s:

> **organized point production under solo-kill constraints**

* * *

## The organizations most rewarded

In order:

1. **Big alliances / coalitions**
Large victim pool + hull diversity + space control + logistics.

2. **Well-run mid-size corps with strong ops discipline**
Can run scheduled “box-ticking” sessions efficiently.

3. **Wormhole groups / Pochven groups**
Because they can control rare space types smoothly and repeatedly.

4. **Individuals with alt infrastructure + lots of time**
Can compete via industrial victim pipelines, but it’s work.

Least rewarded:

- Genuine solo roamers without infrastructure

- Small gangs (kills stop being “solo”)

- Players who like repeated duels/rivalries

* * *

# Proposal: **PvP Fest – Unpredictable Scoring Windows**

## Design Goal

Reduce industrialized farming, victim factories, and checklist optimization by introducing **uncertainty about when kills count** , while preserving the existing PvP Fest ruleset.

The intent is to reward:

- Pilots who are **actively roaming**

- Opportunistic solo PvP

- Players already undocked and engaging organically

And to disadvantage:

- Scheduled kill trading

- Victim stockpiling

- Large-scale coordination and logistics

- Alt-based throughput optimization

* * *

## Core Rule Change: Limited, Hidden Scoring Windows

- PvP Fest runs for the full advertised event period.

- **Only kills made during active “scoring windows” count toward the event.**

- Scoring windows are:

- After a window ends, CCP retroactively flags which kills counted.

Outside scoring windows:

- PvP functions normally

- Killmails appear as usual

- But kills do **not** advance PvP Fest leaderboards

* * *

## Optional Variant: Announced Start, Unknown End (Recommended)

To keep the event readable and exciting:

- CCP announces when a scoring window **starts**

- The **end time is not announced**

- Announcement goes out via:

This creates urgency without allowing preparation.

* * *

## Why This Opposes Gaming the System

### 1. Breaks Victim Factories

- You cannot reliably schedule victims to die “on demand”

- Alts sitting idle are wasted effort

- Coordinated pipelines lose efficiency

### 2. Disrupts Checklist Optimization

- Players can’t plan _when_ to burn rare ship×space combinations

- Hoarding hulls becomes risky instead of optimal

- Opportunistic kills outperform planned ones

### 3. Favors Presence Over Preparation

- Pilots already roaming have a head start

- Being in hostile space matters more than staging

- Logistics-heavy groups lose their timing advantage

### 4. Naturally Rewards Solo Roamers

- Solo roamers already:

- The scoring window converts _normal roaming_ into success, rather than requiring special behavior

* * *

## Impact on Different Player Types

**Most advantaged**

- Independent solo roamers

- Players who live in space

- Opportunistic hunters

**Less advantaged**

- Large alliances relying on scheduling

- Kill cooperatives

- Alt-heavy farming setups

- “Appointment PvP”

No additional rules are required to target these groups — timing alone reshapes incentives.

* * *

## Minimal Implementation Cost

- No changes to:

- Only requires:

This keeps the event simple, legible, and low-risk to deploy.

* * *

## Design Summary (One Sentence)

> _PvP Fest should reward the pilots who were actually roaming and fighting when it mattered — not the ones who optimized hardest for certainty._

Why would anyone take part in a cheat fest?

In fact why would CCP allow it?

It probably reflects on the calibre of devs we have right now as they haven’t been any good for a few years, and they’re getting worse and worse.

Their attitude is akin to the organisers of the Enhanced Games.

He doesn’t know how. People who don’t want to develop their reading/writing skills should be rightfully ignored and weeded out of the social pool. Let him use the AI slop and get no-one to talk to him. He can continue to sit in that corner until he’s tired of silence and learns to use his own brain, if he has one.
