You logic is flawed… Of course they can have a Structure in the sandbox that is EVE. What is stopping them? The fear of loss does not mean EVE is not a sandbox because somebody is afraid to loose to something. In games that classify themselves as a sandbox it very definition is derived from what your goals are and how you choose to achieve it using the mechanics given to you buy the game creators. In a game like X3 that is also a sanbox it allows you play and build and conquer at your own pace. EVE allows you to do the same, but add in the MMO element where others players have their own goals that might just might impact your ability to achieve your goals. Suddenly you need to be a bit more creative as you are no longer dealing with NPC but actual people hell bend on playing the game the way they want using the tools provided to them by the game. A owner can now choose to loose the structure or… hire somebody to defend it. Either way, his choices has an impact on whether that structure lives or dies. Or he might not build one, use somebody elses that has the ability to defend it. What is your flawed expectation of a sandbox? I can do what I want when I want without other players impact me? In a game where the economy is player driver you know that is impossible right? It means you are looking for a single player game. ---

EVE is not a Sandbox which you don’t need to be strong but have enough friends to kick over another player’s sandcastle. Which brings around my other point that there is no PvE in EVE, just PvP. ---

Let’s rephrase that. EVE isn’t a sandbox because I can’t afford to buy the neccesary stuff to plonk a station. Meanwhile in hisec theres plenty of stations that people have plonked because they can afford the neccesary stuff; therein lies the rub. The problem is the OP’s, not CCP’s. ---

CCP should introduce something like a POS tower structure for single player ownership, like it was before Citadels. We have to go full circle on this. ---

Firstly, you have no power to tell others to stop posting, not without an ISD or CCP badge. Secondly the thread title has the word unaffordable in it, that indicates that s structure is financially out of reach for some. Can’t afford is just another way of saying unaffordable, ergo not a troll. ---

I agree that linking war decs to structures is not ideal and I agree that there are different solutions for each problem.
