> I just can’t find what CCPs goals are with this change. It all seems just wrong from my perspective. Increasing the material requirements for citadels could help for example and stabilize some dropping markets, too. I just don’t get why this “core” thing must exist in the first place.

CCP’s stated goals are to reduce structure spam (in null sec) and give people more incentive to bash structures. It appears the change proposed will have no material impact on either but will have the “benefit” of reducing the number of structures used by small, predominantly hi sec corps, thus deflating the economy.

That’s my take on it, yeah. This is gonna suck for highsec, but other than having to shell out a few hundred more per structure, we’re not really gonna care. Nullsec tend to use ‘1M ISK’ as our basic unit of currency, anyway.

> I don’t think that was ever part of the goal for this design. My point about making the game harder is a broader one than this patch. Most of the things they’ve been adding lately have been designed to shake up the meta, make it harder to do the things everybody had already been doing, be disruptive.

What do you think they’ve done in the last year to make this harder for large blocs and high sec bashers?

the encon of eve was well on the way to crashing long before this mess with prices as is nose diving for any thing structure related since ya there is No demand hell mid size refinery was 1.6bil in feb they now at 500mil

With POSs there was a hard cap on Structures in System. Actually it would make sense to anchor Stations at the Lagrange point of a planet or moon. So maybe the answer to nullsec structure spam is, they can only be anchored at special " Lagrange points" that could be limited.
Would suck, because it’s really cool to place a Citadel wherever you want…

Well, keep in mind that the Ls aren’t _exact_. I mean, it’s not like we can _only_ sit 1 object at the Earth/Moon L1. So in theory, you could put small constellations of structures at each of the 5 LaGrange points for each 2-body system…

The EHP nerf, continued nerfs to anomalies and ratting, nerfs to a bunch of ships that were common in null doctrines, the invasion issue with Niarja, and the weather in nullsec changes. As for the high sec guys, the bumping fix killed a lot of what they do.

The forced austerity that the Ecosystem team has been pushing on null has forced a lot of changes to how folks play in nullsec.

Still needs work.

Rorqual can’t jump to industry cyno, while bops ships can bridge an entire fleet of bombers, recon’s astern’s and stratios making it little improvement over the old ‘rookie ship with cyno’ dropper meta.

No doubt someone will say ‘Industry Cyno is a cyno that goes on industry ships’ to which it could be said, why can’t caps jump to those cyno’s then if that’s the definition?

CCP needs to get better at naming stuff, look how long and how much drama fixing all the shield/armour hardeners caused because they had dumb names from like 15+ years ago.

Distance to produce and time to produce are definitely costs. But Jita isn’t the only market, and the margins vary from market to market. Again: those are all choices you make. Nobody is forcing you to make them, no matter how much you want to play the victim.

> [@Anderson\_Geten](#):
>
> But you don’t realize that renters are just coerced into paying money.

Ranters wouldn’t pay money if they weren’t getting something for it that they value _more_ than the money. That’s why when you see entire regions change hands, like when the DRF lost the Drones, the renters… didn’t change. They just rented from the new guys, under a very similar agreement. They were clearly getting something out of the deal. Usually, it’s well-stocked local markets, protection from roaming gangs and hostile powers, and, you know, the rats and ores they’re after in the first place.

I mean, you can try to spin it as I’m the clueless one here, but you literally told a Goonswarm Director to ‘Do some NS before talking please.’ That’s not the way to look like you have the first clue what you’re talking about. Just sayin’.

> [@Anderson\_Geten](#):
>
> As I wrote the issue was liberalism, and that’s the reason why antitrust laws happened.

But liberalism isn’t required for capitalism. You can have, for example, capitalism in places like China. Or Russia. Or any of a number of places in the southern hemisphere where liberalism just _ain’t there_. But capitalism sure as hell is.

The EHP nerf and ratting nerfs hit everyone. Which specific ships were nerfed in your view. Niarja hit everyone. Weather in null sec I will give you but its affect is quite small across 1000+ systems.

The “forced austerity?” Not sure what you’re talking about.

But I’ll take metaliminal storms over trig invasion nonsense every day of the week and twice on Sunday.

Yep. I totally agree. It makes absolutely no sense to me to limit Rorqs like that, but allow BlOps to use them. I wish it did. But it don’t.

I believe he’s bringing up things like how all non-goo ores were removed from most nullsec moons, the most commonly-used ores were removed from nullsec belts, and nullsec ore anoms were nerfed to the point where an entire Colossal Ore Deposit doesn’t yield enough minerals to build a single T1 battleship hull. That’s not an exaggeration, btw.

yeah you are right, and since some planets have like 24 Moons it’s probably not a great idea 😃
But hey, if somebody drops 100 Citadels in a Nullsec system just for fun, there is something very wrong with the economy of Nullsec.

in highsec I know some corps that got rid of their moon mining structures because they were not sustainable anymore \<\_\<

Yeah I know it’s difficult for your, but it’s not quantum science. Seriously, you should be able to understand things : what you are calling “capitalism” is actually “liberalism”.
This change does not lead to capitalism : it leads to more liberalism. It leads to megacorp ruling the world by a position of absolute domination, where their benefit is the only things that is taken as a metric of “good” or “bad” for the game. It’s a system where everybody is the slave of another and has no hope to get rid of it.
