# Questions about Black Ops

Are they primarily just used passively to create warp gates for bomber fleets? Can I train a character into one without worrying too much about combat skills?  
Does it matter which faction Black Ops ship I train into, or are some better than others in practice?

No.

Yes.

Redeemer is great in BLOPS fleets. Sin is great solo. Other two are somewhere between. None are totally unviable.

You _can_, and if you’re only going to use it for bridging you’ll _probably_ be OK.  
But you’re sitting in a very expensive t2 Battleship. You can easily find yourself in combat even if you actively try to avoid it.  
In any event, train JDC V before you even think of undocking one. Having an alt on a second account who can light covert cynos for you is also highly recommended.
