> This is what happens when Liberals bring their economic destruction to a video game. Since they can’t get it to work in real life, they will destroy this one. Going to a new game soon. It is odd that in the vast technologically advance EVE Universe mining ships haven’t advanced. For those that have trained all mining ships, there are no special cool mining ships. Now for those of us that only mine in HS, they want us to become food in Null.
> What crap…
> I can simply take my time and money somewhere else.

I disagree that there are no cool mining ships. For those that have trained all mining ships (I’m only missing the Rorqual, may train into that later this year), there are lots of interesting choices. I rather like the Endurance myself as a cloaky ice miner, but the Prospect could do a good job at mining valuable low sec ores after this change. The barges too all have their purposes depending on the situation, as do the exhumers and boosting ships. Or if all else fails, stick to the slippery Venture to ninja mine low sec ores.

Why low sec ores and not null ores? Because I’m pretty sure there is a lot of mining happening in null, so you will be able to find those ores on the market in HS. Low sec ores, not so much.

Have you considered a battle proc + porpoise fleet for lowsec.

That would be the best option. If you can get your HS / NS corporation into a fleet of Procurers with Porpoise support, you’re a force that most hostile fleets will avoid.

This will be one of the biggest problems with this change.

If CCP thinks that there is not enough miner’s blood in the game, I will not have to dig on venture. But there are also positive aspects, for a ventura you do not need to spend money on OMEGA.

well done Merin… your post personifies the character of eve players who toss salt. it’s never is ok to simply move on from a disgruntled eve player, ya just have to leave a parting shot… People play eve for many different reasons, and they do not always align with everyone. CCP has shown no desire to balance the game for all players and it should be expected that changes such as these recent one will cause players to leave. These recent changes really suck for a good portion of the fan base. Lets just leave it at that.

This change in itself may have not been so bad. However CCP refuses to admit the biggest failure of all; allowing Rorquals and Orcas to become mining ships.

Nothing wrong with those mining boosters also being mining ships. I think it’s a good change that these ships are now present in the asteroid belts as well and can mine.

They just mine a little too much, when their yield is competitive with actual mining ships.

Everything used to be more expensive for Eve’s first 10 years. Then stuff started getting too easy, and it looks like ccp is adjusting it a little. Ffs people can mine with rorquals and pump out absurd ISK value and all people do is cry it’s too hard. Just go play and i-win game that’s easy and takes no effort. I appreciate challenge in games. Personally I don’t like seeing super carriers used like frigates. I have 10 super carriers. I see low sec gates literally camped with super carriers. Part of this is because it’s so easy to make ISK. Maybe if you started playing in 2019 you think Eve is hard but if you started 2003-2010 I don’t think you would say Eve is getting harder and harder.

I could sit on 10 rorquals accounts and earn about 2.5 bil in minerals every hour. How dumb is that…

Did CCP just make a major game change because of, like 10 people in game, who hold vast stockpiles of minerals? How would this affect them? They _have_ those large stockpiles just for such a change. No, it is affecting everyone else.

Here is a question for you all, as I cannot imagine or predict the future ore/mineral prices in Jita:
Tritanium seems to probably keep in its price range. Sure, there _might_ be more demand for it in the future, except lots of mining alts suddenly show up in belts.
But what about 0sec ores? To me it seems that prices will increase substantially for a short while, because why would they ship it back from 0sec to Jita? What would be the point? To supply high sec indy operations?
Yes, supply and demand will increase the price, thus making it more profitable to sell it in Jita. But only for the small guy.
Hear me out: What does a Titan cost to produce in current mineral prices? Exactly. Yes, you have massive reserves, but they will eventually run out. Therefore you want alliance wide ore buying programs, probably in the trillions. Now your ore suddenly became exclusive. Why would/should you part with it and ship/sell it to Jita? Except if your excess is vastly too much.

So, as I see it, a lot of “industry power” suddenly falls way more into the 0sec blocks. _They_ control the ore now. Don’t kid yourself that they cannot have 3-5 extra alts mining highsec belts, per person. Not the other way around.

And god bless that poor soul that thinks mining in lowsec will ever be a good idea. That would become the actual bottleneck.

I already see a monthly low sec mining op where an entire 0sec block invades lowsec and takes control. Didn’t Test do that at some point when they got kicked out of their 0sec region? They still could easily defeat everything lowsec, even when they where “down”.

Well we are not 18 years old anymore and don’t have those kinds of free time we had to farm days and days and days and doing nothing but tedious work for a thing which will get exploded anyway. And even if I had this time it is 2020 now not 2005, entertainment industry went so far past just-grind-it games I could very will find much better (and fun) use for this time.

Grinding isk is not “challenge” its “tedium” don’t mix this things up.

Eve Online is a space-based, persistent world massively multiplayer online role-playing game developed and published by CCP Games. Players of Eve Online can participate in a number of in-game professions and activities, including mining, piracy, manufacturing, trading, exploration, and combat. If it is a pvp game why does it list mining, manufacturing and trading? Also its the big blocks that do all the afk mining, using bots etc.

Nobody is ever going to lowsec to mine. At least not in the numbers you’d need for this redistribution pattern to work. It’s just not worth it.

Lowsec has the least player agency for maintaining one’s own safety. You get safety in numbers and automatic ship loss for aggressors in high sec that makes PvP a cost calculation. You can secure sovereign null and use local to see almost any aggressor half a dozen systems away.

In Lowsec you’re always taking the greatest risk when you undock. This is why numbers in lowsec have been so low for 17 years. It doesn’t matter how big the carrot is, CCP have a 100% failure rate for populating lowsec with the single exception of FW farmers (who avoid actual fights for the most part because it reduces the payoff).

Nobody’s taking their barges into belts in lowsec. Make asteroids out of solid gold that deposit dollars directly into the players bank account you’re still not gonna see significant mining activity in lowsec. Lowsec is fundamentally broken.

That the developers think this will move miners into lowsec and they’ll loose significant numbers of mining vessels there is hilarious and deeply worrying. When people say the devs don’t understand how Eve is actually played, these are the decisions that they’re talking about.

In terms of scarcity:

Ore is not a finite resource. The market will suck for a month and then start to balance out. If minerals really are scarce after this miners will get **rich**.
