Your data is useless.
You don’t even have any.

Gain experience instead.

And … wow … you can’t even do it right in this single post. You’re not actually smart enough, yet you think you are. Congratulations. 🙄

We need a list of you wannabes.

If they replace all the resources with fake ones, no citadels allowed and no isk bounties on NPCs, yeah sure, why not. Then you can “relax” mining or whatever.

4 yrs of hearing it on comms. And I am asking that the data be checked to see if I am right.

But…

It really is that easy to gank in High Sec. Concord actually protects the Gankers. And when the loot drops a cloaky hauler gets the pay-check for the fleet. If each Fleet Member has paid 3m for the Catalyst then it is pretty obvious that profits will happen.

3m is tiny risk, for a reward that is certainly there. And that is what people like me would like addressed. Risk reward is often said by PvP’ers, so for a Krab like me to say it must be uncomfortable for you. But yes, us Krabs would like the ganking to be a bit more… balanced.

No idea if my idea for locking safeties down will fly, but that is above my pay-grade.

I’ve watched. Arrive in numbers. Keep at range 2500m. All press f1 at the same time.

As the target sits there, unable to do anything or Concord will pop him/her. Try for warp and you just open fire. It’s such a basic mechanic.

Not quite Goku or a Rorq rescue. Not even close.

As I have said elsewhere the Catalyst Loop-hole would not last 5 minutes in Null. You’d be spotted, we’d dock up, then bring out appropriate ships for a good rumble. With no Concord protecting you as you get into position. A real fight.

But some people really don’t want to lose their easy killmails.

> [@Bloody\_Larry](#):

> I know some won’t like it.

More like some don’t get it, not even after CCP recently made an event aimed at giving an incentive to ganking… Very telling…

These threads are really funny, not because of their content, which is always crap, but because of what they show about the inability of some people to deal with the loss of their ship in an unexpected way and grasp the concept of no safety anywhere, which makes them think there has to be something amiss somewhere that needs to be “fixed”…

> [@Bloody\_Larry](#):
>
> But if the ganking is forced out a bit then it’ll certainly liven up Low Sec & Null.

It’s amazing how hard some try to come up with new excuses to try to justify wanting to make high sec safer. I may have missed some, but this has to be the most ridiculous one I’ve seen so far.

> [@Bloody\_Larry](#):
>
> The problem is the gank mechanic.

There is no such thing as a “gank mechanic”. There is a _suicide_ gank mechanic called CONCORD that makes the gank last just a few seconds in high sec, which forces the gankers to have to bring overwhelming firepower to be able to kill their target before their ships get destroyed, but there is no game mechanic for the ganking itself, it’s all just normal scouting and spaceship shooting…

> [@Bloody\_Larry](#):
>
> I might be wrong after all.

Not sure “might” was the right word to use here…

I ganked camps in w-space with two catalysts. 1400 surprise DPS to the face works everywhere.

Sounds good, why don’t you move there where you can defend yourself with “a real fight”?

By pushing the PvP out to 0.8 or below, as an example, it would force gankers to actually plan their traps. Scouts in Jita having to tail ships to find out what/where/etc.

Instead of just sitting on the undock with a finger over f1.

If gankers are afraid of a challenge, & just want the easy ISK, then why would I respect that?

Good luck waiting for that. In the meantime it’s probably better if you do what any sane hauler would do, get a mining permit and follow the Code.

Isn’t this exactly what you’re asking for when you demand forced safety? Less challenge, easy isk? You have worms in your brain

If bashing newbs is your idea of fun then you aren’t being useful.

Newbs? If I am right those are who are being stamped on up in High Sec.

So… I hear people moaning about Gankers on comms, reliably for 4 yrs. Am I right or wrong? CCP have a weak retention rate for newbs. And we need newbs. CCP can see the Account of said newb. Full telemetry access. And they also power zKillboard. So CCP can do this. Here is the idea ( as someone asked me how you’d measure it…

We could check. Well, CCP could.

Actually the OP has a good point and the general idea has merit, definitely something CCP should consider in their quest to retain players.

Actually no, new players are very rarely the target of suicide ganks. In fact it is more older players like you who use Highsec to farm in safety. That’s why you are here crying, remember?

As someone who participated in exacly one suicide gank, and hilariously failed in every other PvP encounter (except maybe one, but that was on different toon so out of scope in here :P) I can confirm that performing suicide gank on a miner is easy thing to do.

Well or at least was when I was doing that single one, not sure if anything changed in this regard since then.

The main difference between how we did it on that one occasion and what OP described is that, “keep distance at 2500” is too many needless clicks. we’d just have one guy get in there first on approach with us pre-aligned on the belt, warped onto our guy and then clicked approach and fired the blasters straight to the face of our victim. No needless bother about keeping the range.

Outside of that… I don’t know with precise idea OP made but I’d be interested in data from CCP to either confirm or deny premise from which he came up with.

Nope, how is easy the gank mechanic is. Easy, risk free, risk-reward right out the window.

And I’ve heard the moans for 4 years. Hence why I’m curious about the data.

Because this is how law works, for sure. The cops say you can’t do something and that magically stops you from doing it.

Guns are illegal to own or operate in my country of origin but that didn’t stop the man who robbed my father’s convenience store from putting his safety off and discharging the weapon at other patrons. And just like CONCORD showing up to pop a ganker, the real world cops took the thug down in short order for doing so.

Law enforcement occurs AFTER a crime has happened, not before. Part of what makes EVE EVE is giving us the choice to be bad, and there is already a mechanic in place to enforce the ‘law’ when we choose to do ‘bad guy’ things. If you just magically enforce goodness and sunshine on every player in highsec you take away a big part of what makes this game a different experience and not just another boring slog.
