I assume you’re saying this b/c one of the reasons I cited as playing with POS mechanics? I didn’t mean testing it out for giggles. I meant using them in the game for practical reasons. But clearly you can’t picture a single player wanting to accomplish anything available to a Corp, without having to go through all the drama that tends to come with a whole Corp full of people.

Don’t you have to be in a Corp to anchor a structure?
One reason to be in a 1-man Corp.

Correct. Please don’t tell me you’re suggesting a one man corp with a structure is useful?

Soon there will be alphas controlling highsec with their one man corp citadel with alpha guns loaded with alpha ammo ready to pound your omega ships.

As much as I dislike alphas, your reasoning is completely wrong. Alphas are ruining the game because they’re easy to bot and they create unnecessary inflation. In fact, it’s not just alphas, currently we have too many people ratting and creating isk out of nothing, simply because it’s profitable.

No, that’s a stupid idea. If you gain benefits by being in a solo corp, why wouldn’t you? In case it’s not blatently clear from all the comments above, I will reiterate it just for you.

In case it was hard to understand, this list of benefits is the reason why people make 1 man corps

A few years after I started I was buying BPC’s of T1 barges to invent hulks (when they were the king of mining).

Guy I bought them from was a one man Corp churning out the copies in a POS.

He was making several billion a month on that operation. Sounds useful to me.

NPC corp taxes are 11%. My personal corp taxes are 0%. This is important for keeping my earnings from incursions and other ratting, etc.You might be able to find a corporation open to players with 0% taxes, but it is unlikely, and if you did it’s doubtful the corporation would provide much added value beyond being a tax shelter. Personal Corporation wallets and hangars make manufacturing and managing ISK between my alts much easier. It’s also an excellent way of avoiding irritating interactions with other players. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy the social cooperation in this game as much as anyone, but I prefer that cooperation to be _optional,_ a feature I can turn off and retreat blissfully into my Fortress of Solitude when I feel like it. It’s harder to do that when you’re in a corp. People get their space feelings hurt and might even get paranoid and evict you. I prefer to maintain my own corp and then participate in opt-in social communities when I’m in the mood for it.

To the OP I have 2 people in my corp me and me, my omega and alpha we play alone, both of us solo. Better than paying 11% tax in a npc corp that gives you nothing absolutely nothing. My isk is my own, I sub my main with real cash all my isk is my own as well. I spent 6year working alone but my alpha with max freighter skills when i need to make omega. My only alt that is alpha 10month of every year. My main has lvl 4 freighter skills so that 2 month sub is not needed anymore. So basically i’m a single man corp.

Whenever a restriction or ban is proposed to limit the freedom of a society or group, that restriction should demonstrably result in some societal benefit.

One man corporations are not my preference, but I don’t see how a ban is going to change a lot, or encourage people to group up. People having their personal corporations doesn’t seem to have a detrimental effect on the rest of us. Any benefit to the ban comes with the assumption that people will behave as desired and be social as opposed to finding other workarounds. I think that assumption is unlikely to be true and the truth of it made even more unlikely when an attack on a player’s play style tends to galvanize them against the change the attack is trying to promote.

I prefer to keep pleasant company in my own corporation, but at the end of the day my preference is arbitrary in the same way whether I prefer vanilla or chocolate is. If someone else likes their Eve in a different flavor then that should be OK unless someone can show the harm in it.

Maybe, instead, more people should be running corporations worth being a part of to demonstrate the benefits of them as a social construct.

My alt general wulfen have been in a noob corp for 16 year 😂 I am not play alone, still fly fleet. Lowsec, 0.0… if you play alone i dont se ide to join you own corp, yes you safe 11% of tax but you will get loot of wardeck to. Lose some good ships in a war so you 11% tax still more cheaper.

There is no way CCP knows if a corp is one man only. And the way around is create an email “sigh@dumb.idea” then create a character called “Another Player”. So in short:
Lol no. If it can’t be enforced and be easy to go around even to the point of asking a rl friend to just log in once to help…

How about CCP introduce a tax on all corporations similar to null sov overheads?

Dutty gyal it won’t be so easy then to hide behind your single man empire will it?

10 million isk per month per player, plus 30 million administrative fees on top of that.

The costs should be the same as running a station which is impossible to do solo unless you have a rich daddy.

People run several structures solo and maintain them with their or other customer’s production business. Just saying.

I love having my personal alt Corp. The wallet divisions alone are amazing for streamlining my monthly accounting. Also comes in handy having a “neutral” Corp for handling some more sensitive transactions or hauling jobs. Corp hangars make market trading much easier, as well as setting up new alts with skillbooks/implants etc.

Sure, none of these things are “necessary” and I could do without them. And Sure, not everyone plays the way that I do, so some will get more benefit from it than others. But the quality of life improvement for me at least is amazing.

Just for reference, you can make about 15 million ISK in about 20 minutes by clearing a single Forsaken Hub in nullsec using a VNI.

I’m not sure if you are experienced enough in the game to make a determination of things that are “impossible to do solo” especially when it comes to coming up with knee jerk suggestions like this. I would encourage you to find out more about what these corporations are used for, by whom, and what general capabilities these individuals have in order to maintain these corporations.

Reading through the thread, I don’t believe you have provided a compelling reason for the game to adopt your suggestion. This seems like a poorly researched and not very well thought out idea that doesn’t serve to improve the game.
