The amount of time needed to train skills is ridiculous. Remember people…this is a “GAME”, not a second job. 1132 days for 123 skills to train up. That is so unbalanced it’s preposterous. How about we start trimming that way down to something reasonable? I have over 57 millions skill points trained since 2023. The fact I need another 3 years is disheartening at minimum. And may be the reason I leave. I say that with a level of apprehension because I really do enjoy Eve. I have quite a bit invested into it as well. This needs serious attention and a solid re-work to make it more realistic. The current level is unacceptable.

1. Clearly it **is** acceptable because you’ve been doing it for three years.
2. Skill training has been part of EVE since its inception.
3. Skill training is easier in 2026 than it has ever been:
a. Learning skills have long since been removed.
b. Skill injectors are now a thing.
c. Unlimited skill queues are now a thing.
d. +12 accelerators are now a thing.
e. 1,000,000 skill points are given to every new account, just for clicking a link.
f. New characters now get two bonus neural remaps.
g. The AIR career progression awards bonus skill points.
h. Bonus skill points are given out at every event.
i. Bonus skill points are awarded for achievements.
j. Opportunities award bonus skill points at the rate of 525,000 per month.
k. Bonus skill points can be purchased in packs.

How much more re-work do you need?

Personally, i think all these free skill points should be cut from the game…period.

All these skill points being sold from the store should be cut from the game as well…period.

This is clearly a troll thread and should not be taken seriously…period.

No, it’s not. What would be ridiculous is if you got all the skills to level IV-V in a relatively short amount of time by training. You have to make choices. Do you prefer to level your racial battleship skill to V or use that time to train into some new hull? This is the game. You make your choices and others make theirs. Nobody promised you the privilege of having everything maxed out just by virtue of you playing the game.

You have plenty of options available to speed up your training anyway. There are injectors, accelerators, implants, neural remapping. And you can spread out skills across different characters to unlock activities that require more specialization (scanning, industry, mining, research, etc).

Additionally, if you’re willing to forgo level V for most skills, completing level IVs takes much less. Most of the skill training time goes under level Vs.

I would prefer if they abandoned all that easy skilling support mechanics again. In the glorious old times, skilling wasn’t something for the weak. It involved setting your alarm clock to the middle of the night, get up for 5 minutes, manage to fire up your computer with only one eye open, set the next skill and manage to get to sleep again.

It was an achievement in itself and gave a high skillpoint count a real meaning for the effort involved.

Today it is dull. Everytime someone like @Logan-Riddick came around and lamented, some aspect of it was made easier. Until today where you don’t think about skills anymore. You just have the list full for the next three years at which point the interface becomes too laggy - otherwise you would have skills in for 5 years. It is just something you put in an never have to think about again if you don’t change your plans around every five minutes.

So i propose the opposite: abandon all that easiness and return to a meaningful skill queue of one skill and do away with all the easiness. Make skilling important again and name the change after @Logan-Riddick - as in one lamentation too many caused the Logan-Riddick-Skilling-Blackout…or LRSB…

I agree…as i mentioned in my other reply here above.

FC only implemented all these free and purchasable sp’s only because they felt the need to keep up with all the other games with players who are in some kind of crazy hurry to get things done. They also knew that they would gladly pay for them as well.

Nobody cares about achievements and the meaning of accomplishments any longer.
