If there’s cross-pollination between those silos, all the better (but it’s not strictly necessary). I think that’s what some EVE players don’t understand. Those other “EVE” games aren’t necessarily for you. They’re largely for people who wouldn’t play EVE in the first place. ---

CEOs usually get terminated for much less… HEY GUYS. NFTs!! No.. wait, let’s do another shooter that we’ll tie into the main game again, that went so well last time. Actually… what we really need is a second spaceship game, cannibalizing the players from our core game, but we’ll be as ambiguous as possible and pretend the idea of a UI isn’t necessary… while using 80’s arcade style graphics. AND we make it BLOCKCHAIN!!! Let’s also destroy the resource and production chains in our main game to make it literally unplayable. Why would we want people building ships, mods and ammo in a game based around destroying other people’s ships with ammo?? That’s just crazy. I just can’t imagine why CCP loses money year after year. ---

Lets apply the … logic of some people in this thread to Larian before they released BG3, or any other game company developing games. “Man, their financials SUCK, they’re burning money and might even have to borrow some or use cash from other ventures they own!”.
