PLEX broke 6M in Jita and sell orders are mostly gone.

Did CCP finally break the economy? Haven’t been keeping taps on any eve economy blog posts or anything so pointers would be appreciated.

But one thing is sure. Chaos will ensure with unintended consequences.

Its been trash for years. But hey what do you expect from a capitalistic free market run by the player base? Rampant greed is the reason no economic system works.

Let’s see. 3 Bill to PLEX.

90%+ of all items on market somehow costing less than the sum of their parts, even with max indy skills.

Economy is working as usual… zero logic.

When I started in 09 Plex was a single item and it cost less than a bil. Now it’s multiple of them and it cost upwards of 3b. Everything in this game has drastically gone up over the years. But sure rampant inflation isn’t a real thing lol “oh everything is expensive so that means it isn’t expensive” is the dumbest argument against inflation I’ve ever heard.

duno what game you playing but In PLEX online Sponsored by Visa the economy has for a very long time been totally driven by PLEX.

PLEX replaced the player driven economy which used to be minerals modules ships … now all we have is PLEX and skill injector driven economy.
which i also warned about was PLEX-FLATION where the management injected massive amounts of PLEX into the Economy drowning out the oldskool economy which worked to destroy said economy.

PLEX broke the game due to the greed by the management chasing the quick profits to which they have now gotten used to … which the main economy has been totally destroyed

the profit margins for management are taking a huge hit due to the massive increase in RL cash prices to buy said PLEX…

meanwhile management kept injecting massive amounts of PLEX into the economy further devaluing said PLEX causing PLEXFLATION, now the profits drying up cos not many people can afford to keep paying the crazy prices for PLEX …

this is also why we see a sale on omega… management wants / needs the cash injection… doesn’t matter how much they make every month it will never be enough causing massive knock on effects to the whole game… think dominoes toppling into each other.

the game is on borrowed time… just like in real life when you produce massive amounts of fake manufactured currency which has no real value apart from what they say it is… _(real cash price)_ further destroying said game.

the game as it is is totally 100% going to die a slow lingering death like a sick animal hobbling and wheezing on its way to death… this is the inevitable fate of the game its unsustainable.

you all need to demand change… getting rid of or severely limiting the supply of PLEX ingame is essential to help PLEX online sponsored by Visa to survive in the long term if not the game dies 100% no escaping this.

was just thinking of when i originally played this game some will be able to acknowledge this too… but battleships used to cost around 80 - 90 mil a pop, now ships cost almost 4x this much… that is insane.
where the ability to earn isk has been gimped making it harder to get isk overall and this is only gonna get worse for all prices… both real money prices and ingame money.

in real world we are in hyperinflation already which means you get less for your money, meaning the management will have to raise prices just to keep chasing the profit margins their investors / shareholders demand meaning we all get shafted since they _the management_ are still hell bent on chasing the bottom line.
and if anyone thinks this is merely by accident… it isn’t… just look at the monthly economic reports, the team @ CCP know exactly what they are doing they aren’t stupid anything that happens ingame with the economy isn’t by accident it’s all by design…

so remember this when you start to blame mission runners / miners / carebears in hisec soaking up the isk screwing the games economy… its the exact opposite. also note how divide and conquer works gaslighting those that are the main drivers of the real economy ingame blaming them for the downfall of the economy… which i would say is STAGFLATION, this is bad in any economy both virtual and real.

positive note… you all have immense power you may not realise it but YOU can change the direction of the game almost overnight.
the question is tho… will you.

I agree. The prices on the Market are ridiculous compared to the purse of the average player but I also see many ways to get easy Isk and I would say it sort of balances things but a runaway inflation economy can’t be good.

Ironically, chasing the bottom line doesn’t help the bottom line. It’s like water, keep your hand open it will stay in your palm, close your fist and water leaves. That’s the way I see it but then again I’m not so smart. I try sticking to things I know like cooking and exercise.

Of course they know what they’re doing. They’re smart.
I stopped believing in coincidences a long time ago. I look for _how_ more then _why_.

It’s always the same thing. Little people lose out for lack of organization. It’s what Wallace’s friend said in the movie: “They couldn’t agree on the color of shite!”

How and why are high plex prices and indication that the economy is “broken”?

Without PLEX, Ore prices will skyrocket. No one will be able to buy anything and the bots will certainly dominate everything. Gankers will become a very real threat because miners won’t want to risk their shiny mining barges and exhumers. Everyone will mine in ventures and sell for a very high price.

Without Skill Injectors, it’ll take years for new players to skill up for anything. Everyone buys injectors; even those that deny it buy them. It’s the only way to get caught up as a new player. Think I want to join a game this late and compete against 20 veterans? I’d still be in a Venture instead of in a Skiff.

Plex being over 6m is ridiculous. 6 months ago it was just over 5m, I thought CCP had methods in place to ensure that the price of plex doesnt go too high (i guess they think it isnt high enough)

As for profit, I can still find and make things for a profit, but the profit is less, but then selling to a smaller pool of people is a challenge unto itself.

What makes you say that? Other than toying with demand and cost of plex there is nothing they can do.

i guess the “toying with demand and cost of plex” would be it. They can do things in/out of game to control the cost of it, and i vaguely remember reading that they had option in place to do that if they thought the price was too high, I assume they either dont think it is too high or i am misremembering that information

CCP recently added a new PLEX sink: SKINR.

I would not be surprised if the additional demand for PLEX is part of the reason the price is this high.
