In the process they failed to notice the object was swapped and they started to milk themselves.

As I said yesterday I can’t see how this plan will effect Capitals any more than it will other ship types.

However I don’t think the changes are too drastic for everyone. We lose a bit of resist on our tanks but gain more DPS to kill the belt rats or mission rats faster, by that token it sort of equals out. Most people are really over-tanked for level 4 missions anyway. Level 5 missions were never intended to be soloed and as for complex’s and the like nor were they.

The players that will suffer are the ones who haul lots of things and miners in hi sec who will get ganked a little easier and lets face it the ones who fall prey to this are usually (not always I know) not paying attention or afk. Having higher resistances very rarely count for much if they want to get you. It will mean that they won’t need to have as many people on the suicide attack for the bigger HP ships as before. But I bet suicide gank rate percentage won’t rise as much as the percentage loss on the resistances.

CCP have already since posted they are reviewing this so we’ll just have to wait and see. It’s a little bit early to start saying it’s going to ruin everything and stop paying your subs.

Players have cried about changes like this since I have been around circa 2007. That is 13 years and every company that has tried to put out something to compare to EvE have fallen completely flat. 13+ years of EvE players, that could not handle the game or the changes, and nothing to compare to EvE has even remotely come close to being 'successful" much less capable of competing with EVE. Maybe you and your small business buddy above, since you both are so good at the ‘2nd hardest job in the world’, should team up and put those decades of running small business to use and finally bring us the game to end EvE, CCP, and all their 'bad business decisions.

I think if you take value away from the players (there may be good reasons for that, idk), there has to be a proper compensation and I can NOT see a proper compensation at all (for now) - if you try to sell it as “just a balancing upgrade”, this will most sincerely not work out. Players will know and I’m on the edge of quitting right now, too, because what changes do for me is, in short: making the game more expensive. Higher risk, lower income (which already is not that great, in fact) and more required warpouts to complete a site that may be worth the spent time. For I am a carebear, I really do not like that. I like playing the carebear style.

1. Dark soul isn’t hard, never was, it is pattern game, you learn the pattern and then you can finish it easily on high latency dancing mat, it’s myth that get entrenched for whatever reason, it was never designed as hard game.
2. More dangerous? How is it more dangerous? Less people will risk stuff, that’s all. People are risking stuff when they feel surpulus in their assets. That is being taken away. If anything EVE was made more passive.

> What I don’t get is this.

Oh, but this I can explain, at least in part. It’s very easy to understand when one wants to, actually.

Your first mistake is thinking you know things that you really don’t. Not being aware of one’s own ignorance is the biggest obstacle to learn and understand things.

Your second mistake is not realising how many players silently quit the game out of boredom or because they don’t find it particularly interesting or engaging, **not** because of any of the reasons you _think_ are going to cause lots of players to quit after the changes.

Your third mistake is not realising how selfish, short-sighted, irrelevant and misinformed, the “opinion” of the most vocal players often is in the case of a game like EvE. Balos and his current alt @Darlo_Kubika deserve special mention here 🤣.

The fourth mistake that many here are making (don’t know if also you, because your posts are just rantings and you haven’t really explained what your problem with the changes is), is not understanding the effect that these changes will have on PvE activities.

Except for the highest end PvE content (which may require CCP to make some adjustments if players cannot figure how to do them after the changes), all that will happen is that PvE will become a little more challenging, less profitable in _some_ cases, and may require to use a different fit, different tactics, or even a different ship than the one you liked to use. The latter may be particularly annoying, but is not the end of the world. Everything else being said about the effect of the changes on PvE is ■■■■■■■■ and utter ignorance.

Making PvE more challenging is **intended** and, believe it or not, it’s a **good thing**. I’m not going to explain why. Up to you whether you can understand that or not. Not sure whether making it less profitable is also intended, but they sure don’t think it’s undesirable.

Now, there is a lot more to these changes than their effect on PvE, but I myself have no idea whether much of it is going to be good or bad for the game, or whether things are going to work as expected by CCP to begin with. Moreover, critical details are missing in the case of ganking, which makes it impossible to figure what will end up happening there.

FWIW, I wish they made less drastic and more gradual changes that required to make fewer adjustments afterwards than I think they’ll have to do…

Hope that helps, and if not, well, sorry, but pretending that you know how CCP should run their business better than themselves simply because you’ve run _other_ businesses yourself, doesn’t make you look as smart as you seem to believe…

Just a constant stream of “can I have your stuff?” or “griefer tears, hahaha!” drivel each and every time CCP buffs CONCORD, removes the ability to declare war, etc etc. We’re only giving back to you what you’ve been giving us for so long. That might make you sad, but don’t you think it’s at least _fair_ ?

Okay, do we really need to do this the hard way? Because you’re not making any concrete examples, and are just posting drivel IN CAPS TO WIN THE ARGUMENT BY TALKING MORE LOUDLY.

So here’s a quick list for you of a bunch of changes CCP has implemented over the years that severely nerfed the ■■■■ out nonconsensual PvP:

- CONCORD being made invulnerable, given stat boosts, and being made a kill trigger
- Wars increased in cost by 25x
- **MULTIPLE** CONCORD buffs to damage, e-war, and response time (I could make a line for each one but I’m too lazy)
- Mining barge EHP boosted **significantly** across all types and tiers, and fitting options improved
- Removing of fleet warfare aggro transfer (the Lofty scam)
- Increasing criminal act security status penalties (you used to need to pod multiple people just to get to -2.0, and now all you need is one ship kill)
- Making it _officially_ legal to repeatedly roll corporations to avoid wars, after disallowing it for many years
- Removal of insurance payouts for deaths where CONCORD is involved
- War costs becoming a function of amount of members the target has (so that a small corporation declaring war against a large one would pay orders of magnitude more than a large corporation declaring war against a small one - utterly asinine)
- Introduction of the war ally system, which costs much less than declaring war does
- Introduction of the “safety” button, making it impossible to trick someone into shooting you by employing social engineering
- Crimewatch being introduced, leading to suspect timers, kill rights, et cetera (this really needs half a dozen separate bullet points, but I’m lazy)
- Corporate friendly fire toggle virtually eliminating assassinations from the game
- No longer being able to warp after committing a crime, instead of after CONCORD retaliation
- Disallowing wars unless targets own assets in space

And now is a list of all buffs to nonconsensual PvP, both direct and indirect:

- War transfer mechanics making the “Dec Shield” impossible to work, because corporations could shed their wars repeatedly with one button click (this is basically a bug fix and not a new feature addition)
- Tags-for-sec mechanic, which is admittedly convenient, but expensive as hell
- Introduction of tier 3 BCs, which have BS-level damage but lower costs, and are as such pretty good for ganking, incidentally
- Adding a small NPC corp tax for PvE activities

Not a very even distribution of changes, wouldn’t you agree? Ah, who am I kidding? Of course you won’t agree. Everything short of a button that allows you to selectively turn off PvP in the game is a “PvP buff” to you.

> Instead of nerfing things, make other things better - and bring them up to par. This avoids people having to spend billions of isk to sell their crappy ships or try to refit them (and some quit in the process as this is beyond frustrating)… did you guys put any thought into this from a marketing perspective at all? It sure seems like you haven’t.

Clearly it’s far from being a good solution, and only looks like it when you don’t actually take the time to analyze what you just wrote. I see at least two majors bad points here:

-\>Just buffing everything leads to Powercreep, which as been pointed out as a major problem in several long-term games in the recent years, that became a joke because of too much powercreep.

By now, game devs surely should have realised that this isn’t the good solution to everything.

-\>People choose and invest into a specific ship because they think it’s THE BEST option for what they want to do, sometimes by far.

If you buff other ships, suddently it’s advantage disappear. Maybe an other ship will have been buffed enough to actually became a better option.

Maybe the feeling is not as bad as seeing your own ship directly nerfed, but at the end of the day, this is just almost the same result: The advantages you supposedly had by skilling into this specific ship are gone.

Which lead to the conclusion that your idea doesn’t even solve this problem at all. In the end, we have Powercreep, known as being a bad thing for games, and we don’t even have an actual benefits for players.

That’s a very great bragging post, but the actual fun part is that you NEVER provide any answer to their statement.

They said: “Pissing off customers can be bad, but should not stop you from doing changes that have more positive effects than bad effects”.

And if you actually had the experience in business that you pretend to have, you would know that a business which is afraid of changes is likely to just die in a few months.

Maybe you don’t lie about your business experiences, but clearly when it comes to debating, you are extremely bad. When you do a three paragraphs post, PLEASE answer the actual point of the conversation in at least ONE sentence, my dear business professionnal.

These changes will hit everyone equally. Therefore, even though the equilibrium point will be adjusted, your overall efficiency as a player will not be much different in relation to others. If you make money 20% slower from running missions, then other players will too (miners might experience 20% more ganks, gankers might experience increased competition and a loss of loot value as prices come down, etc. etc.), which means your wealth generation will maintain its proportionality to everyone else.

Don’t bother replying to those trolls; this is literally all they do … maybe they want to give CCP the impression this is a good idea, so that CCP loses even more subs and thus Eve fails … maybe they have an axe to grind and this is their way to get back at CCP by pushing bad ideas and trolling honest feedback.
