TDF Fleet MOTD explained with Roles and Anchoring points

When you first join a TDF Fleet, the first thing you should see is the fleets message off the day (MOTD). The fleets MOTD contains lots of important information and should look somthing like this.


Brief Description.

SYSTEM: The system the fleet is currently running in.
FC: The fleet commander, also the person you warp to until you get the natural phenomena error message.


AAA: Sniper Anchor.
VVV: CQC/short range dps anchor.
DDD: Light drone bunnie.
HHH: Heavy + medium drone bunnie.


MTAC/CIVI: Guy with tractor beam to do tractor beam things.
LC: Logi commander for assigning links and anchor for other logi.

Logi chat: click this to join the logi chat.

TDF SRP: right click this and then give 15 mill to the corp. If you wish to be covered by TDF ship replacement program.

AAA is the snipers anchor and it’s your job to anchor the snipers in sites.

Headquarter sites (40 person)

* True Power Provisional Headquarters (TPPH)

  1. Room 1, turn left 90 degrees. and burn towards what looks like an accelerator gate.
    The accelerator gate doesn’t fully spawn until all Sansha are dead.

  2. Room 2, straight ahead upon landing in the second room you’ll see what looks like another accelerator gate. Burn directly towards that and then sit at the beginning of the gate and wait until it fully spawns.

  3. Room 3 Burn upwards and to the left of the Sansha battletower. You should end up inline with the front of the tower and about as high as the top of the tower at roughly 20km. Which will enable you and the other snipers to use their short range highest dps ammo to kill Sansha in the next wave.

* Nation Rebirth Facility (NRF)

Upon landing in this site you want to burn directly ahead. Then stop once you are inline with the Sansha starbase control tower and the knobbly bit at the top back of the Sansha battletower. You should end up roughly 10 to 15 km from the Sansha starbase control tower.

* True Creations Research Center (TCRC)

The Sansha battletower is your anchor point in the site. When the FC tells the fleet to burn towards tower. Burn directly towards it and stop 20km away. As the snipers want to be in their optimal of their highest dps ammo, to kill the tower of A.S.A.P.

Assault sites (20 person)

* Nation Commander Stronghold

Upon landing burn just above and towards the middle of the snake shaped asteroid.

You should finish of around 15km of the snake shape asteroid. As this will give you a good posistion on the long range targets and will allow you to use your highest dps ammo for the second wave.

* Overwhelmed Civilian Facility

In this site you want to burn high up and into the middle of the gas cloud.

You stop when you are 25km from the Obelisk

VVV Is the CQC short range dps anchor point.

Headquarters sites (40 person)

  1. Room 1, turn left 90 degrees and burn directly into the middle of the spawn. You want to get all the CQC in range of the battleships so they can web them down and kill them easier.

  2. Room 2, Again burn directly into the middle of the spawn. You again want to get the CQC ships in range to web everything down as fast as possible.

  3. Room 3, You want to burn directly towards the Sansha battletower and towards the top of it. Then sit right on top of the dome just on top of it. At this point you need to use your tactical overlay and the Q command.

First thing first, spin your camera angle around so you’re looking at the yellow (North) pointing line pointing at the top of your screen. Hold Q and don’t let go, and single left click on the 30km ring at a point just behind the spike on the back of the tower. Keep holding the Q key and raise the angle up so it goes a little bit higher than the tallest spike on the top of the tower, then single left click again (you can release Q key now). Burn out towards that point you’ve now set with the tactical overlay, until you are around 28km from the Sansha battletower.

For the finale wave you want to spin your camera around again. So the yellow (North) line is pointing towards the bottom of your screen. You then want to burn downwards and past the bottom right of the tower for around 10km. When you finish you should end up in this position. With the white (south) line going through the back of the knobbly bit of the tower and be 18km of the actual tower.

* Nation Rebirth Facility

This is the hardest site for a VVV to anchor in. So don’t worry if you dont get it right the first couple of times, it takes practice to get these ones right. Just try to do your best, that’s all we can ask for. Make sure you have the tactical overlay turned on for this as it helps a lot.

Anyway upon landing in the site burn directly towards the spawn as we want all the battleships web down and stuck on one place so we can kill them off with our highest dps ammo. If possible get the height of your ship to around that of the top ring on the sansha battletower. Then when the FC calls for CQC to anchor burn towards your fist anchor point. Which is between Sansha starbase control tower and and the broken control tower.

* True Creations Research Center

The Sansha battletower is your Anchor point. When FC calls for fleet to burn. Burn directly to you’re optimal of your highest dps ammo and melt the tower.

Assault sites (20 person)

* Overwhelmed Civilian Facility (OCF)

Upon landing burn just to the left of the cloud and slightly above the spawn. Stop when you’re 20km to 25km from the closest cargo rig.

The next position is roughly 10km to 15km directly west. You should end up 35km to 40km from the cargo rig for position 1.

Next position is 5km directly above you.

* Nation Commander Stronghold (NCS)

Upon landing burn directly and slightly above the left end of the snake shaped asteroid. Stop when you are roughly 20km from the snake asteroid and 20km from the closest Sansha bunker.

For the second position you want to burn downwards and away from the L shaped bunkers. So you end up at the height of the Sansha bunkers and 20km away from the closest sansha bunker.

DDD Is the light drone bunnie, you will be assigned all the light drones in the fleet and kill the frigate class Sansha. You’re number one target that you must kill first is the Niarja . The Niarja uses ECM & neuts so can cause havok with our logi so needs to be killed a.s.a.p.

The general rule of thumb for kill order is :-

Niarja > Tama > Renyn > Schmaeel > Eystur

Tama are another really important frigate to kill of fast. As they do 300 dps each so in large numbers they can be lethal.

The way drone mechanics works, is the last offensive modual you use, whether that be a gun, webifier or target painter, On an enemy, your drones will attack that target. So if you web and shoot one target and then web another with a second web. The drones with move over to the target that had the second web applied to it. As it was the last offensive modual used.

Pro tips: In HQ sites (40 person fleets) if you sit just of the person taking aggro you should be able to kill of the frigates much easier. Also the kill order doesn’t matter as much, Niarja must always die first though.

What i mean by that is if two people are taking aggro and the frigates are split. Go to the closest person first and kill of all the frigates on them first, then switch to the other group of frigates. As travel time for your own ship so you can apply your webs and travel time for the drones from one target to another is a big loss in dps.

Last thing you want to do is kill the Tama’s on one person then burn 40+ km to kill a couple of Tama’s on another person. Only to have to burn back to the original person, who is still 40+km away just to kill a couple of Renyn. So just use your own common sense when it comes to kill order in HQ. Except for Niarja they must always die first

Special note: True creations research center is a special HQ site. In this site there is initially 2 Niarja that spawn. You need to kill them both A.S.A.P. one of the Niarja though will respawn every 45 seconds to a minute. Just behind and to the left of the sansha battletower that the full fleet shoots. You need to keep killing that Niarja as soon as it spawns. Inbetween the spawns you also need to kill of any untagged Schmaeel class frigates.

HHH Is the heavy drone bunnie, you will be assigned all the medium and heavy drones in fleet. You’re kill order is very simple.

FC orders > Untagged Romi > Untagged Battleships > Reverse number order.

Pro tip: Heavy drones are very slow to move around so you don’t necessarily have to follow the kill order (always follow FC orders). Say there’s been a new spawn and the untagged Romi burn 40+ km away. Yet tag 9 is a big fat battleship and it’s sat right next to you. Instead of having the drones burn 40km and not firing for a good 40 seconds chasing a Romi just shoot tag 9 instead. Eventually someone will pull aggro and the Romi will burn back. Just use a bit of common sense when selecting targets and make sure you get the untagged killed before CQC run out of numbers.

Another good tip is sometime there will two HHH drone bunnie. If you assign your drones to the other one you can see what he’s firing at and both of you can work together to kill of things much faster with one massive drone ball of death.

You only have a job in two sites the Assault site OCF were you burn directly to the obelisk. Then every wave as the last NPC dies a can will spawn. You tractor in that can to the obelisk and loot it. On the finale wave once the two Antems that are spawned die the Obelisk with spawn properly and you can open it and put the civilians inside. You do this so the fleet receives payout.

The other site that you need a tractor beam for is the headquaters site the TCRC. In that site you wait for the fleet to take the gate then a couple of seconds latter you take the gate.

Note:- If you have ascendancies or lots of hyperspatial rigs wait a little longer. As you want to land on grid once the aggro has established.

When you land on grid do not lock anything (Unless FC orders you to because fleet is lighton raw dps). Overheat your prop mod before you activate it and keep it heated for two cycles while you burn towards the MTAC factory. As overheating your prop mod straight away increases your rate of acceleration and gets you up to full speed straight away.

Note: If you don’t know where the MTAC factory is. If the Sansha battletower that we shoot is at 12 o’clock, at 11 o’clock you will see the shield transfer control tower (looks like a POS). Then at 10 o’clock, roughly, you’ll see a flat rectangular shaped building which is the MTAC factory.

Anyway once you get to the MTAC factory split of one unit of ammo and jettison it in to space. Lock up the jetcan and put your tractor beam on it. Then click on the jetcan and open it and then click on the MTAC factory and open that to like you would a jetcan.

Inside the MTAC factory you will see a golden Mech that’s around 8 km3 in size (Which btw is why we use a jetcan because it’s so big). Drag and drop the MTAC from the MTAC factory to the jetcan. Then slow boat to the shield transfer control tower (POS looking thing).

Once you get to the tower click on the tower and open it up like you would a jetcan. Then drag and drop the MTAC from the Jetcan and into the shield transfer control tower. Just keep going backwards and forwards from the MTAC factory to the shield control tower constantly doing this.

Note: The reason we do this is to stop the tower from repairing itself. As each MTAC dropped allows us to shoot the tower for two minutes without it repairing. Which is why you constantly have to do the MTAC role during the whole site. Because one missed MTAC could mean the tower fully reps and the fleet has to start all over from the beginning.

LC: The Logistic commander is in charge of the logi ships. You’re job is to keep the motd in the logi channel up to date and make sure the DDD is getting two tracking & one opti link. From any of the Oneiros cruiser logi in fleet. If there are anymore links free give the HHH then VVV opti links and then any good Vindicator opti links if there are still available.

You’re job is also to make sure the logi are anchored up properly and that everyone is within 30km of the Nestors. The Anchor points are pretty much the same for the snipers as logi except for two sites.

The Assault site, Nation Commander Stronghold were you anchor up in the middle of the site.

The headquater site True Creations Research Center all logi in this site need to get the hell of the beacon and burn 40km to 50km towards the shield transfer control tower. As a logi ship stuck on the beacon with full aggro is usually a dead logi ship.

Once you arrive at this point cruiser logi should orbit a designated Nestor. The Nestors should then Wait here until the full fleet starts moving towards the Sansha battletower to kill it. The Nestors should then move towards their final anchoring points at an appropriate speed as they need to keep everyone within 30km range.

The final anchoring point should be roughly 20/25km from all three of the battletower/MTAC factory/shield control tower, so you can cover everyone on grid. If you have your tactical overlay turned on and hover your mouse over one of your remote armor repairers. There will be a bright red circle anything inside that is within your optimal range. The duller red circle is your total range. Slightly adjust your position if you have to, to cover everyone in fleet. Just be careful if you have cruiser logi orbiting you, that they don’t bump on anything.
