Insurance is I agree it is required to offer some form of compensation if the Capsuleer does not perform a Criminal act in space. I’m not really sure how ‘ganking’ is defined. I only recognize one subset of PvP, and that is suicide ganking. Everything else is just plain-old PvP as far as I’m concerned. PvP is an import aspect and core mechanic of EVE, as well as an acceptable playstyle. It is the tool with which players resolve all conflicts in the game. It is a requirement. Outside of being docked within an NPC station, you should never be immune to PvP. Suicide ganking is necessary to resolve conflict in highsec. Without it, scores of players would be immune, disrupting the balance of the game. There _do_ exist issues with suicide ganking. Any solutions, however, should involve adding _more_ PvP to the game, not less. ---

Ironically, many of the solutions to suicide ganking involve additional NPCs, rather than any type of player agency. ---
