Unless you have been living under a big ol’ chunk of Veldspar, you probably heard those ISD volunteers finally have their own [retirement home](https://evewho.com/corporation/98839621)! Led by [ISD White Shirt](https://evewho.com/character/2124565276) (presumably a reference to Viva La Dirt League’s [all powerful white shirted manager](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HqjXXOUeYHk)) the corp currently hold 14 other retired ISD characters. Now it just so happens though my ongoing dig of old eve data, I came across [this rather heartbreaking thread](https://eve-search.com/thread/579948)from 2007, in which a host of volunteers gave their final farewells after being let go due to structural changes. Even though this was a long time ago (nearly a decade before I joined), reading it still hit me in the feels, and I could see just how much eve meant to them. Sadly, back then the practise seems to have simply been to punt ex-ISD characters into the default NPC corps, or just doomheiming them. So I thought I would honour those old Polaris members as Eve tradition dictates… **[with a spreadsheet of course!](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/14Utda87hN7vUPd-fvpQ02lrGCS0laKkpP_7ZyNZqtaI/edit?usp=sharing)** Though a whopping 831 are currently listed, many likely been missed, particularly among the earliest ISD characters that didn’t have those telltale prefixes in their names. And of course a lot of the accounts currently in [Polaris](https://evewho.com/corporation/1000173) and the other [ISD corps](https://evewho.com/alliance/99011477) are likely inactive; and so the true number of retirees is likely far far higher. But I digress! So here is to all you wonderful volunteers; who have collectively spent the last quarter of a century (including beta) giving their time, to make sure we have the jollies times… IN SPACE! 🍻 ---

Now, now @Uriel_the_Flame, this isn’t the thread to dis my, terrible typos! It’s a place to reminisce about the good old days; like when that friendly ISD volunteer taught you how to ride a bike fly a battleship! Or those dope AURORA events you might have participated in! Speaking of AURORA, seems you have them to thanks for those [Tetrimon](https://evewho.com/corporation/842461885) [chaps](https://evewho.com/corporation/1261750353) you now have prowling the space lanes every Crimson Harvest, as they originally came from a set of old storylines the volunteers put together back in the day. ---

ISD Dorrim Barstorlode/Bernie Nator needs to be added to the spreadsheet, technically not retired as he’s still listed as a team lead on his profile, but sadly no longer with us, having gone to the great bakery in the sky in May 2023.
