$35 / hour is about right for my field of work / business. However, I do manage to fund many other analysis project of systems other than automotive companies like Tesla or their related systems, regulations to prevent injuries, and so on. I get picked on since I don’t pay insurance to be misrepresented as if actually endangering their security, which security they falsely equate with their sense of paying themselves too much to be unfair, and all the related communication problems which they try to get money from creating and maintaining. ---
