Time for me to go to bed… nighties lovelies! Also: this is one curious story I fond today… > **[Wojtek (bear)](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wojtek_(bear))** > > Wojtek (1942–1963; Polish pronunciation: \[ˈvɔjtɛk\]; in English, sometimes spelled Voytek and pronounced as such) was a Syrian brown bear (Ursus arctos syriacus) bought, as a young cub, at a railway station in Hamadan, Iran, by Polish II Corps soldiers who had been evacuated from the Soviet Union. In order to provide for his rations and transportation, he was eventually enlisted officially as a soldier with the rank of private, and was subsequently promoted to corporal. > He accompanied the bulk ... Companies claim that the volume of illegal, inappropriate and harmful content online far exceeds the capabilities of human moderation and argue that AI is one tool that can assist in better tackling this challenge. According to some platforms, AI is not only more efficient in identifying inappropriate (according to their rules) and illegal content for removal (usually by a human moderator) but also has a higher accuracy rate than human decision-making. 1. Human rights law guarantees individuals a remedy determined by competent judicial, administrative or legislative authorities (article 2 (3) of the Covenant). Remedies must be known by and accessible to anyone who has had their rights violated; must involve prompt, thorough and impartial investigation of alleged violations; 38 and must be capable of ending ongoing violations (A/HRC/27/37, paras. 39–41). … 2. AI systems often interfere with the right to a remedy. First, individual notice is almost inherently unavailable. In almost all applications of AI technology in the information environment, individuals are not aware of the scope, extent or even existence of the algorithmic decision-making processes that may have an impact on their enjoyment of rights to opinion and expression. … 3. Compounding these concerns is the shift towards the automation of remedy systems themselves, according to which complaints of individual users, either about content moderation decisions or about the adverse human rights impacts of AI technologies, are considered and determined by AI technologies. … - _4 hours later:_ [![](https://global.discourse-cdn.com/eveonline/original/3X/2/0/207ee897382713c00203b6deef10f0da43f8cd60.jpeg "Why NASA Abandoned the Gemini Rogallo Wing") ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sKt-UyNwQHw) # Why NASA Abandoned the Gemini Rogallo Wing 653 views • _Oct 7, 2020_ 10 minutes ago, there was 91 likes, 0 dislikes. I think the test was about what’s the first you think. I too can think as fequentist, but my inclination is to think that what’s being questioned to me I can’t answer with certainty until I check it -thus it’s uncertain until it’s determined to me. I understand it is already determined to the universe, but the one being asked it’s me, not the universe. Anyway I’m going to bed now. Nighties lovelies!
