Success came after World War II, when the use of silicon and germanium crystals as radar detectors led to improvements in fabrication and theory. Scientists who had worked on radar returned to solid-state device development. With the invention of the first [transistor](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transistor) at [Bell Labs](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bell_Labs) in 1947, the field of electronics shifted from vacuum tubes to [solid-state devices](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solid-state_device). ![image](https://global.discourse-cdn.com/eveonline/original/3X/9/8/98eef04377af4d30a65de75284b48ebb831502e4.jpeg) > **[MOSFET](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MOSFET)** > > In electronics, the metalā€“oxideā€“semiconductor field-effect transistor (MOSFET, MOS-FET, MOS FET, or MOS transistor) is a type of field-effect transistor (FET), most commonly fabricated by the controlled oxidation of silicon. This is often achieved using common, inexpensive 7400- or 4000-series components. In more complex cases, a programmable logic device like a CPLD or FPGA might be used. After donā€™t really know how many weeks, iā€™ve finished watching Sons Of Anarchy (all 7 seasons). Itā€™s been a strange ride since Iā€™m not into motorbikes and canā€™t really say Iā€™ve liked the series a lotā€¦ but enough to watch it whole, if even 6 or 7 years too late. Some production details Iā€™ve liked, like people being wounded in one episode and then show different stages of healing their wounds on next episodes. Now iā€™m considering whether to watch something else or whatā€¦ but for now and today, Iā€™m off to bed after a last check at Quora notifications. Nighties lovelies! Also: how to install 15 MWh worth of battery storageā€¦ [![](https://global.discourse-cdn.com/eveonline/original/3X/0/7/070d79da6f508792804d9e0b0931260cf8964452.jpeg "FRV & Harmony Energy - Holes Bay battery storage plant with Tesla Megapack batteries") ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K-l_aepEG20) ā€¦apparently this Teslaā€™s MegaPack installation will serve as backup for the local network, and is quite smaller than a standard one of similar capacity. ---
