Time to go to sleep! Yesterday I didn’t share an “also” because still was watching the video I want to share. Nighties lovelies! Also: why does heavy water taste kind of sweet? [![](https://global.discourse-cdn.com/eveonline/original/4X/5/a/d/5ad3df3423167421518d60d18386a4583249baaf.jpeg "Why does Heavy Water taste sweet?") ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lANjwPzISQw) Heavy water (deuterium oxide) it’s a water mollecule with two extra neutrons (one on each hydrogen atom) and although this changes slightly the density and thermodinamical properties of water, it doesn’t alters its chemical properties… and yet, heavy water does taste kind of sweet to our tongue (like 1% sugar solution), and also tastes different in some unknown way to mice (which actualy reject it). Why? It’s still being researched but we have some clues… > **Spoiler** > > We know the difference it’s a quantum effect caused by the different oscillations of mollecules due to the extra neutrons, but, we don’t really know how does it change (beyond theory) the way the proteins in our taste buds react to heavy water instead of ordinary water ---

Hmm… Aeroponics is an interesting idea, but the Wiki article last mentions events from 2006, I wonder how it’s the current state of aeroponics an whether it’s become a commercially viable proposal. Using less water, less nutrients and produicng less waste looks very eco-friendly, but, can the final product be sold for a decent price? Can it compete with other commercially produced ecological products? Guess I’ll just check some more info… but now i’m off to bed. Nighties lovelies!
