Time to go to sleepā€¦ night night lovelies! Also: The feeling that some people look as dangerous as they areā€¦ ![Osaka 1960](https://global.discourse-cdn.com/eveonline/original/4X/b/8/d/b8d9296e284d9e2fbb25c91d6eb71e0cf2ecaf61.jpeg) Photograph: Yakuza gangsters in Osaka, 1960, by Ed van der Elsken Back in 1960 the yakuza was growing stronger and dressing smart was one of their signs of power. Nothing personal, just business, but it would be such a pity that a fire started in this nice shop of yours, wouldnā€™t it? Then the 1990s would come and the Government fell on the yakuza like a literal ton of bricks, with many laws that, without outright banning them or being a member of a yakuza, seriously discourage criminal actvities like racketing or extortion. ā€œSeriously discourageā€ as in ā€œsentenced for life in a country with 100% conviction rateā€. Thus, yakuza nowadays operate either in not-so-reputable business or engage in economic crimes such as financial fraud or money laundering. ---

@Zaera_Keena Are these American arses? Talking about ass: The donkey, or ass, is a domesticated equine. It derives from the African wild ass, Equus africanus, and may be classified either as a subspecies thereof, Equus africanus asinus, or as a separate species, Equus asinus. ![1000007019](https://global.discourse-cdn.com/eveonline/original/4X/4/e/f/4efe1811fa2d673fb3791c1ab9b5df1fdabf7add.jpeg) ---
